Feels like the upside down 🤍✏️

Hey fellow artists and Stranger Things fans! If you're anything like me, you probably find endless inspiration in the world of Hawkins and the Upside Down. I've spent so many hours filling my sketchbook with ideas, and I wanted to share some of my favorite prompts to get your creative juices flowing. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, there’s something truly magical about bringing these characters and scenes to life on paper. First up, Characters! This is probably the most popular choice, and for good reason. Think about the core group: Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, and Max. Each has such a distinct personality and look. You could try drawing Eleven in her iconic Season 1 outfit with the nosebleed, or a more mature Eleven from later seasons. What about Hopper, looking gruff but lovable? Or Steve Harrington, perfectly coiffed, maybe holding his nail-bat? Don't forget the newer additions like Eddie Munson rocking out in the Upside Down, or Argyle with his chilled-out surfer vibe. Capturing their expressions and key accessories really makes the piece pop. Next, let's dive into the more terrifying side: Monsters and Creatures. The Demogorgon is a classic, with its petal-like face. How about sketching the Demodogs, or the Mind Flayer looming over Hawkins? You could even try Vecna, with all his menacing details – his grotesque form offers so many interesting textures and shadows to play with. A cool idea could be drawing them in different dynamic poses, or even interacting with the environment of the Upside Down. Then we have the Iconic Scenes and Settings. Stranger Things is full of memorable moments! Imagine drawing the Byers' living room with the alphabet wall, or the Starcourt Mall sign (before it went, you know, wrong). The portal to the Upside Down is always visually striking. Or perhaps a more atmospheric scene, like a bike chase through the woods at night, or the gang hiding in the quarry. These scenes often tell a story on their own, making for really compelling artwork. Finally, don't underestimate the power of Symbols and Objects. The D&D dice, Eleven's Eggos, Dustin's "Thinking Cap," the old school walkie-talkies, or even just the iconic Stranger Things logo itself can be fantastic drawing prompts. You could create a collage of these items, or focus on one in detail. The mysterious red sky of the Upside Down, or the glowing tendrils, also make for great atmospheric studies. When you're sketching, don't be afraid to experiment with different styles. Maybe a comic book look, a realistic portrait, or even a more abstract interpretation.
