Must have apps

🤍 Yuka : I love this app to quickly scan a product and it will give it a rating, show the good or bad ingredients in it. I also love that it shows a better alternative

🤍 Think Dirty : I use this one more for products vs food but it does both and currently showing top ranking items for 2024, budget friendly categories and more specific offers

🤍 EWG’s healthy living: this app is for both food, personal care, sunscreens, etc. I like this one because looking at makeup it keeps things simple with a score as well.

Although all of these apps are similar I really do like to use each one by scanning daily products or food I’m eating. #appsyouneed #healthylifestyle #cleaneating #cleanproducts

... Read moreYou know, since I started my journey towards a healthier lifestyle, these apps have been absolute game-changers for me. It's not just about eating clean; it's about being aware of everything I put on and in my body. I used to feel so overwhelmed at the grocery store or when buying new skincare, but now, with these tools, I feel genuinely empowered. Let's start with Yuka. This healthy living app is often my first stop, especially when I'm grocery shopping. I love how straightforward its barcode scanner is. Just yesterday, I was looking at a new brand of cereal, and with a quick scan, Yuka immediately flagged some additives I prefer to avoid. What's even better is that it didn't just tell me it was 'Poor'; it highlighted the specific 'bad ingredients' and then suggested 'Excellent' alternatives right there in the store. It's incredibly practical for making quick, informed decisions about food and beverages. It really helps me with my clean eating goals. Then there's Think Dirty. While Yuka covers a lot, I primarily lean on Think Dirty for my personal care items and cosmetics. The app's interface is fantastic for digging deeper into ingredient lists. I've become much more conscious about things like PFAS Products – something I barely knew about before! I remember trying to find a new shampoo, and Think Dirty showed me specific brands that were completely 'clean' versus those loaded with questionable chemicals. Their 'product search bar' is super useful when I'm researching items before I even head to the store, and it often has sections like 'Holiday Gifts Made Clean,' which gives me great ideas for conscious gifting. It’s truly a clean products app that has changed my bathroom cabinet for the better. Finally, EWG's Healthy Living app is my comprehensive go-to for pretty much everything else. The sheer volume of 130,000 product ratings it offers is astounding. Whether I'm checking sunscreens, moisturizers, or even diapers for friends, it simplifies complex ingredient information into an easy-to-understand score. The 'EWG VERIFIED' label is something I now actively look for, knowing it signifies a product meeting their strictest health standards. I’ve used its barcode scan feature countless times, particularly when comparing different brands of makeup or baby products. It keeps things simple, giving me a clear picture of ingredient quality assessments without needing a chemistry degree. It’s perfect for ensuring everything from my personal care items to general household goods aligns with a truly healthy lifestyle. What I’ve learned is that using these apps isn't about perfection, but about progress. I don’t use them to obsess over every single item, but rather to make generally better choices and to educate myself. For instance, if I’m trying to decide between two similar products, I’ll quickly scan both with the relevant app to see which one has a better rating or fewer concerning ingredients. It's amazing how much more confident I feel in my purchases now. These apps for healthy lifestyle are truly invaluable tools in my journey to live cleaner and healthier every day.
