Northern Michigan through the seasons!
📍 Location 1: Elberta Beach is the best place to go for a good swim in the summer! It’s absolutely wonderful but can definitely be a little windy.
📍 Location 2: This was a little Airbnb that my boyfriend & I stayed at in the UP. It was right on Lake Superior & we had a beautiful sunset & sunrise everyday.
📍 Location 3: Sugarloaf Mountain is a quick & easy hike in Marquette! The most beautiful views in the entire city.
📍 Location 4: Presque Isle Park is a great place to cliff jump. It’s located in Marquette & is surrounded by the blackrocks of magma.
📍 Location 5: Tahquamenon Falls is located in Paradise, MI. It’s breathtaking & super cool to see. The water is also a slight orange color from the iron ore & the copper in the stream!
📍 Location 6: Frankfort, MI is your typical lakeside town. Super cute & charming & has amazing beaches as well.
📍 Location 7: The Mackinaw Straits are the prettiest thing, especially during the winter. The ice in the lake is gorgeous to see, especially driving over the bridge.
📍 Location 8: Sleeping Bear Dunes is located in Empire, MI. The hike is pretty fun, but if you decide to do it in the winter like I did, make sure to bring snow shoes.

I've found some amazing local eats there that perfectly cap off a day of exploration. And speaking of seasons, Marquette fully embraces winter. You'll find opportunities for cross-country skiing, ice climbing, and even just enjoying the festive decorations downtown. It's a city that truly lives up to its 'four seasons' reputation. Overall, Marquette, MI is more than just a stop on a Northern Michigan road trip; it's a destination in itself.
