How to edit sunset pics on your iPhone 🌅

The end of summer comes with the prettiest sunsets. A sunset photo is crucial for your late summer photo dumps. Plus you don’t need a fancy camera, just your iPhone and whatever you use to edit!

I ended up cropping out the trees to only focus on the sky. Add your favorite tints, I love more blues and pinks. Turn up the vibrance and you have a beautiful sunset picture ready for the gram! 💙💕

... Read moreEver wonder how some people get those absolutely stunning, vibrant sunset photos straight from their iPhone? I used to struggle to capture the true magic of golden hour, but after a lot of experimenting, I’ve found my go-to iPhone photo edit settings formula that truly makes a difference. You don't need a professional camera; just a few tweaks in your native Photos app can elevate your pictures from good to breathtaking! My personal step-by-step approach starts even before editing. I try to ensure my initial shot is well-exposed, then the real fun begins. I’ve noticed that the key to achieving those dreamy, vivid skies shown in my 'After' images often lies in understanding what each adjustment does. For example, I typically start by adjusting the 'Contrast +10'. This helps define the edges and deepen the colors, giving the clouds more presence. Then, I pull down the 'Highlights -60'. Sunsets often have very bright areas, and reducing highlights helps recover detail in those blown-out parts of the sky, bringing back those delicate cloud textures and colors that might otherwise be lost. Next, I play with color balance. Sunsets are all about warmth, but sometimes they need a little nudge to really sing. I often decrease the 'Temp -10' to introduce a cooler tone, which can make the reds and oranges feel richer, especially when combined with a 'Tint +10'. This tint adjustment is where I bring in those beautiful pinks and purples, making the sky feel almost painted. It’s amazing how just a touch of tint can transform the mood! Finally, I always boost the 'Vibrance +10'. This setting is a gem because it intelligently enhances the less saturated colors without overdoing the already vibrant ones, resulting in a naturally rich and captivating sunset. Another crucial step I learned is 'cropping trees' or any distracting foreground elements. As my 'Before' and 'After' shots show, sometimes focusing solely on the sky, even if it means cropping out a bit of the landscape, can make the image much more impactful. Experimenting with different compositions after applying these core adjustments can really make your photos stand out. These aren't just random settings; they're the 'best photo adjustment settings' I’ve found for creating professional-looking, 'vibrant' sunset photos right on my iPhone, almost like using a 'sunset filter' but with more control. Give these 'iphone editing settings, step by step' a try and watch your sunset photos glow!
