How to season your Blackstone Griddle

Set aside an hour at minimum!

You don’t want to rush the process.

*This is the only time you will use soap*

-Once you have your griddle assembled, you want to get some warm soapy water and clean it really good with a cotton rag. Wipe down the griddle too, sides and make sure to remove any packaging residue.

-Once all is cleaned, rinse all the soap off and let it dry completely.

- Apply a very then layer of Blackstone Griddle Seasoning & Conditioner, turn all burners onto a medium heat (no need to go extra hot). You will see it smoking and burning the seasoning off.

- Once it is completely burned off (no more smoke) turn the heat down (or even off) until the griddle is cooled to the touch and repeats the applications steps until you have 5 good coats.

It’s that easy!

... Read moreThe Blackstone Griddle is a versatile cooking tool perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike. Seasoning your griddle is crucial; it not only creates a natural nonstick surface but also enhances the flavor of the food. Start by cleaning any manufacturing residues with warm, soapy water and a cotton rag, which is the only time soap should be used in the process. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before applying the Blackstone Griddle Seasoning & Conditioner. Heat the griddle to medium until the seasoning begins to smoke, indicating you're ready for the first coat. It’s important to allow the smoke to dissipate completely before adding subsequent layers—typically five thin coats are best for long-lasting results. Between each layer, ensure that the griddle cools down properly to allow the seasoning to bond effectively. Once seasoned, your Blackstone Griddle is ready to create amazing meals with minimal sticking.
