OMG Sushi omakase from just $38 at Boat Quay?!

We visited the new second outlet of Toku Nori at Boat Quay, and what makes this place interesting is that you can pick between two omakase options — Jyosen or Tokusen — depending on what you’re in the mood for.

Jyosen is the more classic lineup, featuring favourites like Hamachi, Maguro, Salmon, and Anago, alongside a mini chirashi don.

If you’re feeling a little more indulgent, go for Tokusen, which includes premium bites like Chutoro, Aka Ebi topped with caviar & uni, and even Foie Gras Sushi — definitely the standout for us.

Beyond the sushi, the izakaya dishes were solid too:

✨ Truffle Scallop Somen — light, fragrant, and comforting

🦀 Red Crab Crispy Sushi — crispy, savoury, and packed with flavour

🔥 Maguro Popper — fun bite with tuna tartare and ikura

We also got a delicious preview of their upcoming Mother’s Day menu, and these were highlights worth coming back for:

🌽 Cream Korokke — crispy corn cream croquette with caramelised cauliflower purée and cured egg yolk

🦞 Kai Potage — a rich lobster and pumpkin bisque loaded with amaebi, red crab, lobster meat, clams, ikura and crispy rice

🍮 Hojicha Milk Purin — smooth, nutty hojicha pudding with hazelnuts and kinako mochi to end the meal

Value-wise, this is hard to beat in the CBD — especially with omakase starting from just $38.

Great for casual dates, team lunches, or even planning ahead for a Mother’s Day treat.

... Read moreAfter enjoying the Tokusen omakase, I realized how this spot brings authentic and indulgent sushi experiences without the hefty price tag typical of high-end omakase restaurants. What I particularly loved about the Tokusen option was the variety of textures and flavors, from the creamy richness of foie gras sushi to the delicate sweetness of Aka Ebi topped with uni and black caviar. Beyond sushi, their izakaya dishes like Truffle Scallop Somen and Red Crab Crispy Sushi offer complementary tastes, making the meal well-rounded and satisfying. The upcoming Mother's Day menu seems thoughtfully crafted, with dishes like Cream Korokke featuring caramelized cauliflower purée and the luxurious Kai Potage bisque packed with lobster and seafood components, promising a memorable occasion. For those considering a visit, I recommend trying both omakase options if possible—Jyosen provides classic favorites while Tokusen elevates the experience with premium delicacies. The restaurant's location in Boat Quay is convenient for CBD workers and visitors looking for great value sushi. Also, don't miss the House-made Hojicha Milk Purin dessert for a comforting finish. Overall, Toku Nori’s second outlet impresses as a fantastic choice for sushi lovers seeking quality and value, whether for a casual lunch or special celebrations.
