Align yourself with the necessary tools for growth
If you’re into leadership, entrepreneurship, or similar, you will understand the importance of self-development (particularly self development books).
With a snowstorm keeping us homebound I was able to continue reading my latest, THE AUDACITY TO BE QUEEN BY GINA DEVEE. I just finished Chapter 8 and it definitely hit some triggers and I thought I’d share.
One thing I have gotten really good at is being stuck in a martyred possessed woman (which she talks about in the book). This has been the case for probably decades, but definitely more prominent in recent years. I was actually just having those thoughts YESTERDAY. I was thinking about all the things I have to do and that if I don’t do it, no one will. This revolves around SO MUCH, my girls, my dad, the house, the car, my dad’s business, etc…
It makes me stuck in a “ONE DAY MENTALITY”. Well, one day I’ll be able to do this and one day I’ll be able to take that trip.
It also makes me have a “HOPE ADDICTION”. I live in a world of hope and not actual being and doing.
The book talks about seeking out mentors and challenges to align ourselves with the tools of success and the universe will take notice and provide these opportunities of growth for you.
When I was beginning the chapter I was beginning to get discouraged because I didn’t know how I could get myself out of that hope addiction right now. Then, at the end when she was talking about creating these opportunities for yourself I had to sit back and think about what exactly am I doing in my life for growth.
I am currently in a challenge with mentors, I have new tools for the ultimate success in two areas of my entrepreneurial life. I AM setting myself up with the tools to have growth.
That sparked excitement for the things to come. I’ve got some BIG goals, for myself, for my family, for my business. I know it’s a step by step process and I wish I could just find the fast forward button on life…but I have been able to see the growth within myself through all the challenges I’ve faced. I know I am a strong woman, raising 3 girls to believe in themselves. I need to remember to have that same belief in myself.
