Family Vacation 2016
4/4/20 Video posted.
It feels like just yesterday we were packing our bags for our big family adventure, even though it was all the way back in 2016! I recently stumbled upon some old footage and just had to share a little throwback video I posted on 4/4/20, capturing some of the pure joy and chaos of our trip. Watching it brought back so many incredible memories, and it made me realize how much I love looking back at these special family moments. Our 2016 family vacation was truly one for the books. We decided to explore a vibrant coastal town, hoping for a mix of relaxation, adventure, and plenty of good food. Traveling with family, especially with kids, always has its unique challenges and rewards. My biggest tip for anyone planning a family getaway? Flexibility is key! Not everything will go according to plan, and that's perfectly fine. Embrace the unexpected moments – they often turn into the best stories later. One of the absolute highlights of our trip was definitely the food scene. We made it a point to try out local eateries, and I remember one CANTINA & RESTAURANT in particular that we absolutely adored. It wasn't just about the delicious tacos and refreshing drinks; it was the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the way it brought everyone together after a long day of exploring. We typically try to balance fancy dinners with casual spots, but this CANTINA & RESTAURANT struck the perfect chord – lively enough for the kids, but still offering authentic flavors for the adults. We even picked up a few recipe ideas just by observing the chefs! Beyond the fantastic meals, we spent our days building sandcastles, splashing in the waves, and exploring historic sites. Keeping everyone entertained can be a juggle, so I always recommend having a few backup activities in mind, especially for rainy days or when little ones need a break from the sun. Simple things like drawing in a travel journal or playing card games can be lifesavers. We also discovered a fantastic local market where we bought some unique souvenirs and fresh produce, which we used to make a simple, delicious meal back at our rental one evening. Looking back, these vacations aren't just about the destination; they're about the shared experiences, the laughter, and the bonds strengthened along the way. Planning ahead for things like travel insurance, comfortable shoes, and plenty of snacks can really make a difference. And don't forget to delegate! Everyone in the family can have a role, even the youngest ones, which makes them feel more invested in the trip. I truly hope this little glimpse into our 2016 adventure inspires you to plan your next family escape and create your own unforgettable memories!
