3 Tips For A Sober Holiday Season

In honor of my third sober Christmas, I wanted to share three tips for making it through the season sober

1. Bring your own beverages - this one is obvious but very important! Disguise your sober drink in a cup if you are nervous about being questioned.

2. Stay busy - boredom can be a trigger for many, so plan ahead and keep your weekends packed with holiday baking, crafts, and movie marathons

3. Don't isolate yourself - lean on your supportive friends/family and the sober community. Even engaging with sober content creators can help keep loneliness from creeping in!

The holiday season can be a challenging time for those choosing sobriety. First, consider the environment: social gatherings often involve alcohol, making it essential to prepare ahead. Isolation can be a trigger for many; lean on friends and family who support your sober journey. Engaging with online sober communities or following sober content creators can provide the encouragement and connection needed during this time. Having a support system can make your holiday experience fulfilling and enjoyable.
