World’s largest gummi bear!
Hey everyone! So, you've seen my epic journey to create the world's largest gummy bear, and trust me, it was an adventure! A lot of you have been asking how I even went about making such an enormous gummy bear, or if it's really possible to make something like a 5lb gummy bear at home. Well, let me spill the tea on my giant gummy journey! First off, the sheer scale of a jumbo gummy bear like this requires a lot more than just a regular packet of gelatin. We're talking about needing a significant amount of unflavored gelatin – think multiple boxes for a truly enormous result – plenty of sugar, your favorite flavorings (I used a mix of fruit extracts!), and a really, really big mold. Finding the perfect mold was half the battle; I ended up using a custom-made silicone mold because nothing else was big enough to hold my vision of a truly big gummy bear. You might even find giant gummy bear molds online if you search for them! The process itself is surprisingly straightforward but demands patience and precision. You have to dissolve the gelatin completely in water, then add your sugar and flavorings. This mixture then needs to be heated gently until everything is perfectly combined and translucent. The trick is not to boil it too vigorously, or you risk breaking down the gelatin's setting properties. Once it's ready, carefully pour the mixture into your giant mold. This is where the waiting game begins! Chilling is crucial. For an enormous gummy bear, you can't just stick it in the fridge for an hour. Mine needed a solid 24 to 48 hours, sometimes even longer, to set completely. I remember checking it constantly, wondering if it would actually work and hold its shape. The anticipation was real! When it finally solidified, the moment of demolding was nerve-wracking. You have to be super gentle to avoid tearing your masterpiece. I genuinely couldn't believe it actually worked when I saw it pop out perfectly! It was so satisfying. If you're thinking about attempting a 5lb gummy bear, be prepared for a project!
