Who is the EV car in Thailand?

This question is easier to answer than it seems... but more complicated than it looks. ⚡🔋

When we buy an EV,

Most people often see what brand of car it is.

BYD

Tesla

Volvo

MG

ORA

JAECOO

Kia

Toyota

Zeekr

But there is another very interesting question.

"And who's the battery inside?"

Because one EV car

It's not just a car brand.

But behind there are also battery manufacturers.

Cell Manufacturer

Pack Weaver

Factory

Markets sold

Production year

And sometimes the same model, but each lot can use a different battery.

This is why I think

Looking at these EVs requires a deeper look at the front logo.

According to the verifiable public information,

There are some models where the data is quite clear, such as

Kia EV5 using batteries from FinDreams / BYD

ORA Good Cat 500 Imported Version. It has information that it uses CATL.

ORA Good Cat Assembled in Thailand using batteries from SVOLT

Porsche Taycan involved a battery from LG Chem.

Toyota bZ4X has data that it uses batteries from PPES / Panasonic.

Mazda 6e Model BEV Thailand Found Data Should Be CATL-Changan LFP

And MG IM6 75 kWh has Thai data indicated towards CATL LFP.

But there are also many models that still need to be very careful. ⚠️

Such as AION, JAECOO, OMODA, Chery V23, NETA, Zeekr some sub-models.

Because some sources still don't match.

Or some data may indicate just the pack manufacturer, not the actual cell manufacturer.

Or it's data from the Chinese market, but Thai cars may not be 100% the same.

This is where people buying EVs should understand.

Battery isn't just the word LFP or NMC.

But have to see that.

Who produces cells?

Who assembled the pack?

Where did the batteries come from?

Use on which market?

Is a car imported or assembled in Thailand

And how is there a guarantee?

Because all this has to do with long-term costs.

Repair

And future resale prices.

Simply put,...

Buy an EV. Don't just look at the car brand.

But also have to look at the battery system behind it.

Because in the EV world,

The battery is the heart of the car.

And this heart

Not always produced by car camps.

Some models use batteries from CATL.

Some models use BYD's FinDreams.

Some models use SVOLT.

Some models use the LG Chem.

Some models are related to Panasonic.

And some models still have to wait for Thai market-specific confirmation information

So this post is not made to say

"This one is good. That one is bad."

But made to say that...

And we should ask deeper before buying one car.

Because the EV didn't end just the pickup day.

But it stayed with us for years to come.

So batteries aren't just specs on paper.
