Lao Jiang 老江一品汤 ~ Nourishing & Signature Soups

Previously I have shared the post of Lao Jiang's Pork Trotters Vinegar with Rice, which is one of their delicious dishes.

This time for soup lovers, I would like to recommend another 2 of their soupy dishes which you should try too.

One is the Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Ginseng Essence 人参精焖鸡腿汤.

The soup itself includes nourishing ingredients of white ginseng, american ginseng, crunchy sliced ginger, wolfberries and red dates.

They also provide a separate bottle of the premium ginseng essence for you to add into the soup, which greatly enhances the intense herbal taste.

The chicken meat is fresh, tender and full of flavour in the ginseng broth.

Peeps who likes to drink herbal soup, I believe you will love this nourishing soup 滋补养生汤 which can help to boost the vital energy (Qi) 补气提神.

The soup with Rice is $12.80 while with the Dry Tossed Noodle (Hor Fun/ You Mian/ Thin Bee Hoon/ Mee Pok) is $14.80. Highly recommended to order the Dry Noodle which is very tasty. I will usually have their Hor Fun, you can choose spicy or non-spicy.

The other soup to recommend is the Signature Superior Soup with Dry Tossed Noodle 招牌一品汤搭配干捞面 $10.50.

(Can choose rice or porridge instead of noodles)

The Signature Superior Soup is flavourful with plenty of fresh quality ingredients like prawns, sliced lmitated abalone, sliced fish, fish maw, sliced pork meat, minced meat, meatballs, fishballs, fried fish sticks and vegetables.

I added another side dish of Fried Spice Pork Belly (Half Portion). Usually I don't take much pork belly as it is a bit fattening. However, this is one of their Best side dishes that I like. The outer fried skin is crispy and fragrant, the meat is also tender and juicy.

The restaurant has No service charge, food pricing is inclusive of GST. Pay at counter for CDC voucher and Mederka & Pioneer card holders will have a 10% discount.

... Read moreIf you're exploring how to enjoy Lao Jiang's soups even more, here are some tips I found helpful. The Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Ginseng Essence combines white and American ginseng with wolfberries and red dates, offering a robust herbal boost. Adding the premium ginseng essence bottle they provide really enhances the richness and aroma. For noodle lovers, ordering the dry tossed noodle options, such as Hor Fun, You Mian, or Mee Pok with the soups elevates the meal experience beyond just rice. The option to choose spicy or non-spicy noodles caters to all palates. One of my favorite pairings was the Fried Spice Pork Belly as a side dish. Despite usually avoiding pork belly for health reasons, this dish’s crisp skin and tender, juicy meat tempted me to indulge. Regarding locations, Lao Jiang has several outlets in Singapore, including IMM, Punggol Oasis Terrace, Anchorvale Village, and Upper Bukit Timah, with convenient opening hours catering to various schedules. It's also worth noting that Lao Jiang applies no service charge and includes GST in their pricing. They offer discounts for CDC voucher, Mederka, and Pioneer card holders, making it an affordable and delicious option. If you’re curious about matching other ingredients with their soups or experimenting with noodles, don’t hesitate to ask the friendly staff. They usually have great recommendations to complement your choice. Overall, Lao Jiang’s commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients and authentic recipes makes it a must-visit spot for anyone eager to enjoy traditional nourishing soups that are full of flavor and beneficial for your health.
