$7.80~$9.80 Steamed Fish Sets @ SK Kopitiam Square
Normally it is quite expensive when we place an order for Fish dishes from Zi Char 煮炒 stalls in Singapore.
Nonetheless, I came across this stall ~ Winner Fish 赢家蒸鱼 at Sengkang Koptitiam Square.
What has caught my attention first is their signboard with the striking colorful wordings.
Next is looking at their display menu with a variety of Set Meals 套餐, consisting of the White Rice, Steamed Fish (Mangrove Jack/ Golden Pomfret/ Seabass/ Fish Meat), and One Side Dish (Baby Kailan/ Steamed Egg/ Cai Pu Beancurd/ Beansprout).
The Set Meal price ranges from $7.80 to $9.80. If you would like to have more meat & less bones for the Fish or adding of Sea Prawns or Lala, it would be a top-up of $1.50.
Ala Carte dishes will be $5.00 for Sea Prawns and Lala, $3.00 for Baby Kailan, Cai Pu Beancurd, Steamed Egg and Beansprout.
Ordered 2 sets, one is the HK Steamed Seabass Set 港蒸金目鲈套餐 $7.80, with Beansprout and rice. Seabass is delectable when it is steamed with the tasty soya sauce and fragrant fried minced garlic. The fish meat is very fresh, tender and most importantly there is no fishy smell.
The side dish, Beansprout is recommended as they are fresh, crunchy and a good portion.
The other set is Cai Pu Steamed Seabass Set 菜脯蒸金目鲈套餐 $8.80, with Baby Kailan and rice. The fried and crispy Cai Pu 菜脯 with the Seabass tastes great as well.
The ala carte side dish, Steamed Egg however is not too satisfying as it is served in a smaller cup portion, different as seen from the display menu.
The Set Meal pricing is considered to be reasonable and affordable as the portion for one person is adequate. Foods are also more of healthier choice as they are all Steamed cooking.
Will go back to the stall again and top up $1.50 for more fish meat. For fish and seafood lovers, you can drop by to try out the steamed foods when you are around the vicinity.
