One of the most crucial factors is your posting rate — brands want to see that you’re consistently active because it signals engagement and dedication to the platform. I found that scheduling regular posts helps maintain good visibility. Creative ability is just as important. Brands assess if your visuals are clear, if the filming environment looks tidy, and whether the content feels authentic and relatable. Personally, shooting in a well-lit, clutter-free space and using a conversational style has improved my video retention rates. You don’t need professional equipment; simple, organic formats that align with TikTok’s casual vibe often perform best. Hooks in your videos are essential to capture viewers' attention within the first few seconds, boosting your retention and overall engagement. I always try to start with a question or a bold statement related to the product or trend, which seems to keep viewers watching longer. Lastly, the actual Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) you generate matters most to brands because it proves your ability to drive sales. As your GMV increases, you gain access to more samples, exclusive deals, and preferred brand partnerships that others might not receive. Tracking your sales and being transparent about results has helped me build stronger collaborations. Overall, focusing on consistent posting, improving creative quality, crafting strong hooks, and driving sales results will position you better with brands on TikTok Shop. Sharing these insights from my journey might help other creators understand what really counts when working with brands on this platform.
