When choosing a Practical Driving Instructor (PDI) at BBDC, it’s important to consider not just the rates but the quality and experience you receive during lessons. From my personal experience, even though the instructor charged a relatively high rate of 64 SGD per hour, the lesson didn’t meet my expectations effectively. I started my first practical lesson feeling the instructor was friendly, but it quickly felt a bit insincere. Communication during the lesson was limited, and the session ended 10 minutes earlier than the scheduled time without a clear explanation. Upon asking, the instructor reacted with visible irritation, which was discouraging and unprofessional. After just one lesson, the instructor decided to drop me, leaving me feeling unsupported. Another point to consider was the lesson content. Despite the longer session length (1.5 hours were supposed to be covered), the lesson focused predominantly on just turning left, which is a very limited skill set given the wide range of maneuvers new drivers need to master. It’s crucial for an instructor to provide comprehensive training that builds confidence in various driving scenarios. From this experience, I would advise fellow learners at BBDC to carefully evaluate their PDI choices. Don’t hesitate to ask for trial lessons or read reviews from other students. Great instructors should offer patient, thorough instruction while respecting your time and investment. Driving lessons should leave you feeling confident and prepared, not rushed or dismissed unexpectedly. Ultimately, the effectiveness of your driving instructor can make a huge difference in your learning journey. Always prioritize instructors who demonstrate genuine commitment, personalized teaching, and professional communication. This ensures you maximize the value of your lessons and are fully ready for your driving test.
