What SIA provides for toodler :

🌟 Lunch ( puree or baby meals)

🌟 Free upgrade to Forward Zone seat with bassinet for me

🌟 Hot water anytime

🌟 Diapers

🌟 Wrist Plushies

What I bring to survive for 4 hour flights alone:

✨1 litre of bottled water

✨2 diapers

✨4 pkr formula milk storage bag(save space)

✨Binky(a must to prevent ear popping & noise reduction)

✨Extra clothes, paracetamol, anti histamine, asthma meds

✨Ear muffin

✨Pram

Toys: ( They dont need to be very stimulated at this age)

✨Flippy books

✨Ziplock bag

Thoughts💭 :

Travelling alone with a child who cannot stand was very challenging. I had to rely partly on stewardesses and strangers for help, especially since my height (153 cm) made it hard to reach overhead compartments to store the pram. With my child on my lap, eating was difficult as he kept playing with my food. To make things manageable, I learned to pack light and bring only the essentials.

🌪️Challenges

Despite being allowed to bring your pram onto the airplane, it was mistakenly placed with the checked baggage instead. When you disembarked, I was left without my pram and had to search for it alone. Fortunately, Hong Kong Airport provided a replacement pram right outside the aircraft, which helped me managed the situation.

Language barrier was also an issue for me to find my luggage

Would I do it again? Yes with short flights at this age

... Read moreFlying solo with a baby under one year old can feel overwhelming, but a bit of preparation goes a long way. When it comes to baby bottle feeding during flight, I found it essential to plan feedings around takeoff and landing to help ease ear pressure for the little one. Using a binky helped reduce discomfort from air pressure changes too. Choosing a forward zone seat was a game-changer since it provided a bassinet and extra space for managing supplies and keeping the baby comfortable. If your airline offers such seating, I highly recommend requesting it in advance. During the flight, I kept formula milk in compact storage bags, which saved space and made feedings more manageable. Bringing along extra clothes and medications like paracetamol and anti-histamines helped me handle unexpected needs. One challenge I faced was the mishandling of the pram, which was placed with checked baggage despite being allowed on board. Luckily, Hong Kong Airport staff provided a replacement immediately. If you plan similarly, double-check with the airline and airport personnel about pram handling. Also, don’t hesitate to ask flight attendants for assistance; their support can be invaluable when juggling baby care solo. Overall, flying solo with an infant is doable with proper foresight and packing only the essentials. Short flights were more manageable, and I’d recommend keeping journeys brief when traveling alone with a young baby.

Just came back from our trip to OKA! We took a red eye there and day time flight back - we did top up $$ to get the first row seats so that there was more space and leg room and it really helped us to take our items more easily and slow bounce bb to sleep during the flight - will recommend!! Ra

1️⃣ Chicken Briyani = surprisingly good! Scoot’s briyani was honestly so good and so satisfying — highly recommend getting it for any scoot flights 🍛 2️⃣ Bring a steam/eye mask. It really helps block out cabin lights and keeps your eyes comfortable, especially if you’re trying to nap. 3️⃣ D
