How I changed my shopping habits….
Rule number one— Never, and I mean NEVER go grocery shopping hungry. Thats how you end up buying unnecessary and unhealthy stuff.
Before going to the store, plan out your meals for the week and create a comprehensive shopping list based on those recipes.
Take inventory of what you already have at home to avoid buying unnecessary items.
Focus on buying a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Buy the Organic ones, even if you are on a budget. Honestly, if you pay attention they are only a few cents or a dollar more, and they are free of pesticides and have less antibiotic exposure.
Lastly, sometimes we’re busy and we forget about all the fruits we buy so I like to make some freshly squeezed juice the first day, fill up bottles and drink them throughout the week. That way they don’t go bad and you get your vitamin C daily!
