Jordan and Hector Dexter up to no good

Life with my two furry best friends, Hector and Jordan, is never dull, especially when summer rolls around! Every day is an adventure, but there's something extra special about our 'Day In My Life' routine during these warmer months. I wanted to share a little more about how we make the most of our days, focusing on all those precious moments and practical tips I've picked up along the way. Our mornings always kick off with enthusiasm, mostly from Hector and Jordan! After their breakfast, the first thing on our daily agenda is usually a good walk. While the original post mentioned 'lots of walking,' we really lean into that during summer. The beach is our absolute favorite spot, and nothing beats those early morning 'Summer Vibes' as the sun rises, casting a beautiful glow over the sand. When taking your pups to the beach, I've learned a few things: always check local regulations for dog-friendly areas and leash laws. Bringing plenty of fresh water is a must, even if they love playing in the ocean, as saltwater isn't good for them to drink. I also pack a small towel to wipe off sandy paws before hopping back in the car. It’s amazing how much joy a simple walk can bring, seeing Hector and Jordan chase waves or dig in the sand (supervised, of course!). After our morning explorations, the afternoon routine shifts to a more relaxed pace, especially as the sun gets higher. It’s crucial to keep them cool and comfortable. We usually head home for some downtime, maybe a chew toy or a short nap in a shady spot. I always make sure their water bowls are full and perhaps even offer some frozen treats to help them beat the heat. Keeping their activity lighter during the hottest parts of the day is key to their well-being. Sometimes we'll do some indoor playtime or a puzzle feeder to keep their minds engaged without overexerting them. As evening approaches, we wind down with a final, shorter walk, usually around our neighborhood, before their dinner. This routine helps them burn off any remaining energy and ensures they're ready for a good night's sleep. The 'Night Routine' for Hector and Jordan is mostly about cuddles on the couch and ensuring they have a comfy bed. Sharing my life with these two has taught me so much about appreciating the simple things – the wagging tails, the happy barks, and the unconditional love they give.
