So I’m somewhat a picky eater… Yeah I know it’s a flaw but so what! And when I get trail mix I eat like less then 50% of it. So I started to make my own it’s a little odd but it works for me.

For nuts/ seeds there is sunflower seeds, & cashews. Peanut Butter M&Ms, goldfish and not pictured is yogurt covered raisins.

I’m thinking of adding freeze dried strawberries or blueberries.

I need some recommendations as well, what is a must in your trail mix?

... Read moreAs someone who’s quite a picky eater, creating your own trail mix can be a game changer. I’ve found that mixing familiar ingredients like sunflower seeds and cashews with fun treats like Peanut Butter M&Ms and goldfish makes snacking enjoyable and satisfying. Adding yogurt-covered raisins gives a sweet and tangy twist that balances the saltiness. One tip I learned is that including freeze-dried fruits like strawberries or blueberries not only adds vibrant flavor but also a pleasant crunchy texture without extra moisture, helping the mix stay fresh longer. Plus, freeze-dried fruits pack in antioxidants and vitamins, enhancing the nutritional value of your snack. Considering the variety of flavors and textures can really elevate homemade trail mix. If you’re into protein power, adding roasted and salted nuts or cheese crackers rich in cheddar flavor works perfectly, as seen in some popular snack options like Baby Cheddar crackers. They bring savory depth and make the mix feel more like a full snack rather than just nuts and candy. For anyone else who struggles to finish store-bought trail mix or just wants to control what goes into their snacks, I highly recommend experimenting with your favorite ingredients. Don’t hesitate to add unexpected items like mini crackers or protein-packed seeds. It can become a fun way to personalize your snack and keep hunger at bay throughout the day.
