April - May's Nails

Been a good month since I had gotten my nails done. May is my birthday month, and I wanted something to represent me.

Zebras have always been one of my favorite animals. As a kid, I would always say i'm like one because i'm mixed (black and white) lol. I also love neon colors. My prom dress back in the day actually a neon green (a light shade).

I'm happy w how they turned out! #acrylicnails #frenchtips #zebraprint #zebra #maynails 🤔Cons:

... Read moreI'm still buzzing about my latest nail design, and I just had to share more about why I chose this specific look! As you know, May is my birthday month, and I really wanted something that felt personal and celebrated my style. That's how I landed on these incredible neon green zebra French tip nails. First off, zebras have always been a favorite animal of mine. Growing up, I'd often joke about how I related to them because I'm mixed – a blend of black and white. So, incorporating zebra print into my nails felt like a fun, subtle nod to my identity. Then there's the neon! I've always had a soft spot for neon colors. I even had a neon green prom dress back in the day (a milder shade, but still!). Combining these two loves just made perfect sense for a birthday statement. My nail tech absolutely nailed the vision. We went with short, square-shaped acrylic nails, which I find really practical but still chic. The design itself is a classic French tip, but instead of the usual white, we used a striking white and black zebra print for the tip. What really makes it pop, though, is that vibrant neon green line separating the zebra tip from the natural pink base of my nail. It’s such a small detail, but it makes a huge difference, adding a modern and edgy twist to a timeless style. The contrast between the bold print and the electric green is just mesmerizing! If you’re thinking about trying a similar 'neon zebra nails' look, here are a few tips based on my experience. First, don't be afraid to clearly communicate your vision to your nail artist. Bringing reference photos (even just of the colors or prints you like) can be really helpful. Second, consider the neon shade carefully. There are so many variations of green, pink, orange, or yellow. I went for a bright, almost acidic neon green that truly glows. Finally, think about your nail shape. While I love the short, square look, this design would also look amazing on almond or coffin shapes, depending on your preference. These nails aren't just a design; they're a conversation starter, and I'm totally in love with them!
