these little memories last a lifetime.
After a very long and busy week, my wife was able to go out to the local library to read, so the kids and I decided to have a friendly water gun fight together. Abide was a sharpshooter and had a blast sneaking up on me, Judah loved watching perched in her bouncer as Dad’s spotter, and I was hitting slide cancels like it was Call of Duty.
Thank You, Jesus, for this life we live. I am blessed far beyond what I deserve.
Family time is often the best time, especially after a long and stressful week. Creating playful experiences like a water gun fight not only strengthens bonds but also brings laughter and stress relief to everyone involved. From my own experience, engaging with my children outdoors helps us reconnect and build lasting memories. Observing the kids shows that even small activities can light up their faces. Just like Abide taking on the role of a sharpshooter, kids love feeling involved and skilled. Judah’s role as a watcher mirrors how younger siblings or even new family members can still enjoy the event safely while feeling included. Adding fun game references such as “slide cancels like in Call of Duty” can make ordinary playtime even more exciting, merging a bit of popular culture with family bonding. It’s also a great way to connect with kids through their interests. Importantly, this moment of joy is paired with gratitude and faith. Saying "Thank You, Jesus, for this life" highlights how spiritual appreciation can enhance our everyday happiness and perspective on family life. It reminds us to count our blessings, no matter how busy life gets. Incorporating such wholesome and loving experiences into your routine helps create an environment where children feel valued and loved, and dads can enjoy meaningful connections with their kids. These little memories truly last a lifetime, enriching your family story with love and faith.
