6 Months planning for our wedding 👰🏻♀️🤵♂️
January 2025 bride and here’s our 6 months planning all on our own:
July 2024: Wedding Gown & Suit
We source for bridal boutique July 2024. To be honest, we only went to our bridal boutique and had confirm on the spot as at the point, we knew it was the right one for us.
August 2024: PWS, Venue & Food Catering
PWS - We needed to quickly had our PWS to be in time to have our photos ready before Jan 2025.
Venue - We knew we only wanted this venue because it has a meaningful reason and so without much consideration, we booked it.
Food Catering - we had our food tasting at the wedding fair and we love it. We made deposit on the spot. Glad all my guests love it.
October 2024: Decos for our Wedding Venue & Emcee
Decos: We glad we found the right vendor for our wedding despite there was time we almost gave up, too stressed because no one was available for us as many vendors told us our wedding date is a popular date 🥲 I have to say I really love the floral and the decos sooo much. It’s sooo worth.
Emcee: We engaged a popular emcee who you’ll see on the movie screen. Even though there are times we aren’t very happy with the service but I’m really glad he made my guests very happy and had made the wedding vibes sooo good 👍🏻
November 2024: Wedding Band
We actually had rings search in Jan 2024 without making any wedding plans at that time. Luckily we did our search early so that the rings can be ready in November 2024. It took so long for us to collect because my diamond has no stock (was waiting for it) & had to resize the rings.
December 2024: Proposal
Despite all the planning started, my husband only proposed in December when we are in Japan 🇯🇵
woohoo! Was only engaged in Dec! 💍
January 2025: Guo Da Li
2 weeks before our wedding, we had our Guo Da Li.
2 weeks after, it was our actual wedding day
During this period of planning, it was stressful but it was so worth it. If there is any bride who has 6 months or lesser for planning, don’t worry and don’t give up. If I can do it, you can too!

Persistence paid off when we finally secured our preferred decor vendor and a lively emcee who transformed the event’s atmosphere. Don’t underestimate the time needed for wedding bands; starting ring searches early, as we did in January, was crucial. Delays can happen, such as awaiting specific diamond availability or resizing needs. Two weeks before the ceremony, we had our Guo Da Li (traditional betrothal ceremony), signaling that the final stretch was near. Despite the whirlwind of tasks and occasional stress, seeing everything come together was incredibly rewarding. If you're counting down to your wedding with limited time left—whether it's nine days or six months—prioritize your to-do list: book must-haves early, attend a wedding fair for quick and diverse options, and lean on trusted vendors. Most importantly, don’t hesitate to ask fellow brides or share your journey; the support makes the process more enjoyable and less overwhelming.
