Last 5 on NetGalley

@beetlebookz_ on Instagram made me wanna make my own post of @netgalley arcs! So many good ones and as a mood reader, it makes it so hard for me to decide what to read next and I definitely request more than I need to, so I’ve been trying to catch up while also reading some off of my physical tbr as well. I’m currently reading Yesteryear and am really digging it! What do your NetGalley shelves look like? Are there any of these that you’ve read or are looking forward to reading? #netgalley #netgalleyreader #arcbooks #booksrecs #booklists

... Read moreAs an avid reader who frequently uses NetGalley to access advanced reader copies (ARCs), I understand the challenge of balancing mood-driven reading with the abundance of great options available to request. NetGalley offers an incredible platform to discover new books before their official release, but it can be easy to request more ARCs than one can realistically read in a timely manner. One approach I've found helpful is to combine my digital ARC reading with physical books that have been on my TBR (to-be-read) shelf for a while. This breaks the monotony and keeps my reading experience fresh, while also preventing backlog buildup on NetGalley. Currently, I'm really enjoying "Yesteryear," a title that stood out not only for its compelling narrative but also for how well it fits my reading mood at the moment. When organizing my NetGalley shelves, I pay close attention to book requests by authors I admire, like Donyae Coles and Sarah Langan, or books with intriguing themes such as thrillers and dark fiction. For example, books like "The Forest of the Dead is Calling" and "This Cursed House" by Sarah McCarry have piqued my interest due to their gripping synopsis and thrilling atmospheres. It's also fun to track the approval, decline, and review status of my requests to manage expectations and reading plans effectively. Engaging with the reader community through hashtags like #netgalleyreader and #arcbooks allows me to see what others are enjoying and get recommendations that resonate with my tastes. If you're trying to keep up with your NetGalley reads, I suggest setting aside dedicated reading sessions for your digital ARCs, mixing up genres to match your current mood, and openly sharing your experiences online. This not only enhances your own literary journey but contributes valuable insights to the reading community. Overall, using NetGalley thoughtfully has enriched my reading life by providing early access to exciting novels while encouraging a mindful approach to managing my reading pile both digitally and in print.
