Seeking Help! My MacBook Screen is flickering

My MacBook screen suddenly flickering, it's so distressing😭.

I went to the Apple Genius Bar for consultation and was told that the cost of replacing the screen is almost the same as buying a new one, which put me in a dilemma.

If I buy a new one, I don't have that much money right now; if I don't replace the screen, I can't use it normally😖.

Have any of you encountered a similar situation? Do you have any good solutions? I really need your suggestions and help! Looking forward to your comments.

Common causes for this problem include hardware malfunctions, software glitches, and connection issues with the display. If you find yourself in a situation like this, consider trying some troubleshooting steps before seeking costly repairs. Start by ensuring that your macOS is updated, as software glitches can often be resolved with the latest version. You can also reset the System Management Controller (SMC), which helps manage hardware functions. If the flickering persists, connecting your MacBook to an external display can help determine if the issue is hardware-related. Additionally, discussing your concerns in forums like #AskLemon8 or #MacBook can yield helpful suggestions from other users who have faced similar situations. They may share insights about repair options, repairs, or even alternatives that could save you money in the long run. Remember to weigh the cost of repairs against the price of a new device carefully. Engaging with your community can not only provide you with solutions but also alleviate the distress of navigating these tech issues alone.

Get an iPad. It’s cheaper and you can use it as a monitor or you can buy a portable monitor and get an hdmi cord and connect them. But the iPad is much easier and you’ll get multiple uses.
