Finally an ereader girlie ✨🌸
Yep.. it’s official!
I briefly talked about getting an ereader. I was researching them and brought it up to my mom, not really thinking she’d remember. Fast forward to Christmas, she surprised me with the one I was thinking of getting‼️
I’m so excited to use it for all my reading adventures. I still love a physical book, don’t get me wrong, but it’ll be great to be able to get books more conveniently.
This ereader is a boox go color 7. I decided to go with this one because I wanted out of the Amazon and kobo umbrellas. Android based was the way to go with that. With this ereader I can have everything; manga apps, libby, the kindle app too. EPUBS and pdf files are also easy to download onto it, for those who want that.
I’ve been using it obsessively since Christmas and I can really recommend it! It lets you adjust the font, brightness, and it’s customizable that way. I still haven’t found my preferred settings but I am getting there everyday!
It’s a bit pricier than typical ereaders, but I think it was worth it for the accessibility of other apps. I’m not planning on getting another one for a long time, so I think it was worth waiting to save for the extra cost. (For My mom anyway). My mom likes borrowing it too. I think it was a great purchase!
I can’t wait to enhance my reading journey next year with this. I’ll keep you posted on what I think about it.

When I first considered stepping outside the Amazon and Kobo ecosystems, I wasn't entirely sure what I was getting into. But let me tell you, opting for an Android-based ereader like my Boox Go Color 7 has been a revelation! It’s not just about having the Kindle app – though that’s super handy for my existing library. It’s the freedom to download virtually any reading app you can imagine. For manga lovers like me, this means seamless access to my favorite platforms without clunky workarounds. And Libby? A total game-changer for library loans! No more converting files or being limited to specific formats; I can simply download an EPUB or PDF from my computer and have it on my ereader in seconds. This flexibility truly makes reading more convenient and accessible. FINALLY GOT AN EREADER that truly adapts to my reading habits, not the other way around. Setting up the Boox Go Color 7 was surprisingly intuitive. From the moment I first powered it on, I was impressed by the vibrant display for an e-ink screen – it's so pretty! The color really brings book covers to life, making titles like "Good Spirits" by B.K. Borison pop off the screen. Once I got past the initial excitement, I dove into customizing it. This device offers an incredible level of personalization. Beyond just adjusting the font size and brightness, which are standard, I can tweak contrast, refresh rates, and even remap buttons for quicker access to features. I'm still playing around to find my perfect 'December 2025' reading aesthetic, but it's amazing to know I have so many options. The ability to switch between warm and cool front light is also a huge plus for late-night reading sessions, making it super gentle on the eyes. Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room: the price. Yes, the Boox Go Color 7 is a bit pricier than your typical ereader. But honestly, for me, it’s been worth every single penny. Think of it as an investment in a truly versatile reading device that won't lock you into one ecosystem. The ability to read "Good Spirits" or dive into "Lovelight Farms" by B.K. Borison – the first book I read on it! – without being tied to a single bookstore feels incredibly liberating. It’s like having a mini tablet dedicated solely to reading, but with the unique, eye-friendly display of an e-ink device. My mom even loves borrowing it to read her books – it’s that easy to use and adaptable. For anyone considering an ereader who feels constrained by other popular brands, seriously look into an Android-based option. It opens up a whole new world of digital reading possibilities, from comics to academic papers. If you’re on the fence about whether a premium Android ereader is for you, here’s my pro-tip: consider what kind of reader you are. If you stick to one ecosystem and don't mind format restrictions, a standard ereader might be fine. But if you're like me – someone who loves to explore different apps, borrow from the library, enjoys colorful comics, and reads various file types – then the extra cost for something like the Boox Go Color 7 is completely justified. It really does make every reading adventure feel more accessible and personalized. I've been using it obsessively since Christmas, and it's quickly become an indispensable part of my daily routine. Don't forget to explore accessories like a good screen protector and a sturdy case to keep your new reading companion safe on all your literary journeys!
