A Charming Read!

This is my current read!

I’m at about 60% and it’s so good, I can hardly set it down!

It’s so emotional yet funny at the same time?? It has no rights to do that. This book is also an Apple TV show and it is really good. I’m doing a tandem read + watch and that has really improved my experience. I love seeing all of the differences.

Jinx is by FAR my favorite character. I also really like Rose. She needs more development.

Have you read this book? Would you?

... Read moreReading ‘The Knockout Queen’ alongside watching its Apple TV adaptation creates a unique and enriching experience that combines visual storytelling with the deeper narrative of the book. I found that the emotional nuances and humor in the novel come alive even more when paralleled with the show, allowing me to appreciate the differences in character portrayals and plot development. Jinx, who quickly became my favorite character, is vividly brought to life in both mediums, but reading her inner thoughts in the book adds a layer of complexity that the show sometimes simplifies. On the other hand, Rose’s character feels like she could be explored further in both formats, which left me hoping for more depth in future episodes or additional writing. This tandem approach not only entertains but also encourages active engagement by comparing storytelling techniques across platforms, sparking insightful discussions about character development and narrative choices. For anyone considering this novel, I highly recommend pairing your read with the show to maximize your connection to the story and its characters. If you’re drawn to audacious, wildly funny, and unpredictable stories—as praised by Kevin Wilson—‘The Knockout Queen’ is a perfect pick. It blends humor with emotional intensity effortlessly, making it an unforgettable read and watch experience. Have you tried tandem reading and viewing? It might just transform how you enjoy your next favorite book.
