Late post from yesterday…Day 70 of 75

Kinda rest day. Just realized why these past few days have been hella hard. My period is just around the corner, normally would’ve been one light workout IF I worked out at all. But #75hard doesn’t account for that. I’ll just have to modify my routine in phase 1 of #livehard

... Read moreWow, Day 70 of 75 Hard! It feels surreal to be this close to the finish line. This challenge isn't just about physical transformation; it's a deep dive into mental toughness and discipline. For anyone curious about what it truly takes, let me share a bit more about my journey and what I've learned. The core of 75 Hard is simple but brutal: Two 45-minute workouts daily: And yes, one has to be outdoors, no matter the weather. I've had my share of rainy outdoor walks, even pushing through when my body felt drained. It's incredible how much you can achieve when you commit. Just yesterday, I clocked in an impressive 13,604 steps, covering 6.12 miles, proving that even when you feel like a "rest day" is needed, you can still hit those targets. Follow a strict diet: No cheat meals, no slipping up. This has taught me so much about nutrition and resisting temptations. Drink 1 gallon of water daily: This sounds easy, but it’s a constant effort, especially alongside intense workouts. Read 10 pages of a non-fiction book: Expanding my mind while pushing my body. Take a progress picture daily: A stark reminder of how far you've come, even on days you don't feel it. No alcohol: A complete reset for your system. What I've realized is that the physical aspects, while demanding, are often overshadowed by the mental battle. There are days when motivation is nowhere to be found, when your body aches, or when life throws unexpected curveballs. It’s in those moments that the true 'hard' part of 75 Hard kicks in. You learn to push past comfort, to honor your commitments, and to build unwavering self-belief. Beyond specific challenges like dealing with my period (which, let's be honest, makes those two 45-minute workouts feel like Everest!), I've faced other hurdles. Social events become tricky – explaining why you can't have 'just one bite' of cake or a celebratory drink. Waking up early for that first workout when all you want to do is hit snooze. The key has been meticulous planning and communicating my commitment to friends and family. It’s about adapting your life to the challenge, not fitting the challenge into your life. The discipline gained here sets a powerful foundation. That's why I'm already looking ahead to Phase 1 of Live Hard, which builds upon these principles. It's not just a challenge; it's a lifestyle shift. If you're thinking about starting 75 Hard, my biggest advice is to prepare mentally. Understand that there will be tough days – maybe even Day 70 feels like one! But the growth, the resilience, and the self-confidence you build are absolutely worth every single sweat drop and every disciplined choice. You'll surprise yourself with what you're capable of.
