Just give us 5 more minutes… we’re walking toddler speed.❤️

A few years ago, this walk probably would’ve stressed me out.

I’d be thinking about the dishes, the laundry, what I “should” be getting done, and how much time we were “wasting.”

But that’s exactly why I believe your home systems should fit your current season of parenting—not someone else’s.

The systems that worked when you had a newborn probably won’t work with a toddler. The systems that work with toddlers will change again when your kids start school. And they’ll change again when they’re teenagers.

Your home should evolve as your family does.

A few ways to build systems for the season you’re actually in:

• Solve your biggest point of friction first. If mornings are hard, don’t organize your pantry—make mornings easier.

• Design around your real life, not your ideal life. If toys end up in the living room every day, that’s where toy storage belongs.

• Make it easy to reset. The goal isn’t a home that never gets messy. It’s a home that’s easy to put back together.

• Let your kids participate. Systems that they can actually use are far more valuable than systems that only look nice.

• Reevaluate often. Every few months, ask yourself, “What’s making our days harder than they need to be?” Then change the system—not yourself.

The best systems aren’t the ones that last forever.

They’re the ones that give your family what it needs right now… and you’re willing to change them when “right now” changes.

Because the goal was never a perfectly organized home.

It was always more moments like this. 🤍#mom #homesystems #organizedhome #cleantok

... Read moreFrom my personal experience, adapting home systems to the current parenting season truly transforms family life. When my child was a toddler, mornings were chaotic, so I focused on simplifying morning routines rather than obsessing over perfect pantry organization. For example, I placed commonly used breakfast items in easy-to-reach spots and created a small play area near the kitchen, which helped keep the little one occupied safely. I also learned the importance of embracing imperfection. Instead of striving for a spotless home that’s hard to maintain, I set up systems that made tidying up quick and doable — like designated toy bins in the living room where my toddler naturally played. This made reset time smoother for both me and my child. Involving kids in the process was a game changer. Teaching my toddler to put toys away wasn’t about neatness but about building habits and responsibility, which made the home feel more harmonious. Reevaluating every few months helps keep systems aligned with changing needs. When my kids started school, I shifted focus from toy storage to homework stations and backpack organization. Having a flexible mindset helped me avoid burnout and preserved precious family moments. The takeaway? Your home systems should evolve with your family, always designed around what works for you now — not a perfect model or past experience. That flexibility brings not only order but also peace, allowing more treasured time with your kids rather than stressing over chores.

Being told things like “you don’t get a gold star” and “you did it just for attention and no one cares” for having an unmedicated birth has to be the most annoying thing us women who did it have to hear. Let me explain from my own POV. Women who go unmedicated don’t do it for others’ approval. We
