Day 10 ➡️ Dosmetic flight to Chengdu! Was a long day and we arrived in our hotel in late afternoon. Didn’t go anywhere thereafter. Anyway, this hotel is the hotel I love the most among the 4 hotels we stayed in! 🥰 Literally everything in the room can be controlled by 小杜! I was just playing away with the 小杜 function during my few days stay there!

Day 11 ➡️ My hotel was quite near 宽窄巷子 so I walked there and it was amazing! Used 高德地图 to navigate my way and it is so convenient, down to the point of counting down for traffic crossing!! Enjoyed my time walking around the area. Found a bookshop and they sell the book (云边有个小卖部☁️) I’ve been looking for so I purchase it! Saw a cafe (一丁咖啡) and decided to sit down for a drink and cake. 滴滴 to 大悦城 after that as I saw from 小红书 that it was very happening with the Christmas deco!

Day 12 ➡️ Heard so much about the 失恋博物馆 and there is one in Chengdu so I def have to go! I got the 3-in-1 ticket from 美团 (ᴛʜᴏᴜ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴏᴜɴᴛᴇʀ ᴛᴏʟᴅ ᴍᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴇɪᴛᴜᴀɴ ᴛɪx ᴄᴀɴ’ᴛ ʙᴇ ᴜꜱᴇᴅ ᴀɴʏᴍᴏʀᴇ. ꜱᴏ ɪ ʜᴀᴅ ᴛᴏ ʙᴜʏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛɪx ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴘᴏᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅᴏ ᴀ ʀᴇꜰᴜɴᴅ ᴏɴ ᴍᴇɪᴛᴜᴀɴ)… The museum wasn’t that bad, but not good either. It was slightly run down. The museum was located inside a mall and there are many more malls around that area too. I later realised that area is 锦江区 which is the central of Chengdu, that’s why there are many things there! Saw a 3 story miniso omg! I unknowingly walked to the tourist area (太古里) too and saw the popular 3D panda screen! Did some shopping at muji and had some desert at muji cafe. Saw on 小红书 this 方所书店 and was looking for it! Waaaa so hard to find but I eventually found that place!! Was a great time citywalk-ing around the area! Love it! 🤍

Day 13 ➡️ Visited成都动物园! Saw many cute & ugly-cute animals! Same thing, I gotten my tickets from 美团! A very chill day at the zoo! Went to 泡桐树街 after which and it’s just a very quiet street with few people, but it’s full of 文艺气息! Accidentally gotten on a non-registered car from didi when I’m heading back to hotel. The driver dropped me off at a random place that’s not the front door of my hotel and the gave excuses like 高峰期 (peak period) cannot go to the hotel street… I only realised it was a non-registered car when I check back at my booking history… (ʜᴏᴘᴇ ɪ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴛʜɪꜱ ᴡᴇʟʟ ᴇɴᴏᴜɢʜ ʙᴇꜰᴏʀᴇ ᴜꜱɪɴɢ ᴅɪᴅɪ ʟᴏʟ, ʙᴜᴛ ɪ ꜱᴛɪʟʟ ᴍᴀɴᴀɢᴇ ᴛᴏ ɴᴀᴠɪɢᴀᴛᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ᴡᴀʟᴋ ᴍʏ ᴡᴀʏ ʙᴀᴄᴋ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏᴛᴇʟ ꜱᴏ ᴀʟʟ’ꜱ ɢᴏᴏᴅ)

Day 14 ➡️ 高铁 to 西安! Didn’t do much in 西安 as it was towards the end of the trip 🤍 Thanks for reading!

... Read moreWhile Chengdu offers a range of famous winter attractions, one gem to consider beyond the typical spots is the nearby Dali Sculpture Town, known for its remarkable artistry and attracting thousands of visitors annually. Although not directly in Chengdu, this immersive town offers a unique day trip for those who appreciate outdoor sculptures and cultural experiences in a chill winter atmosphere. During winter, Chengdu’s mild climate makes it ideal for exploring heritage sites like Kuanzhai Alley without the crowds. Take advantage of local apps such as Gaode Maps for seamless navigation and Didi for convenient rides—though be cautious to only use registered cars to avoid unexpected detours, as I learned firsthand. If you're a fan of literature and cozy cafes, spotting local bookstores and quaint cafes like the one I found on Kuanzhai Alley can provide a warm respite during chilly days. For nature lovers, the Chengdu Zoo remains a peaceful escape, showcasing both adorable and unusual animals, perfect for a relaxed day of sightseeing. Lastly, integrating local ticketing apps such as Meituan can enhance your trip planning by securing entry to popular museums, although it’s wise to confirm ticket validity upon arrival due to occasional discrepancies. Overall, winter in Chengdu balances cultural exploration with comfortable weather and less tourism hustle, making it a special season to travel solo or with companions.
