Hidden gem japanese food

At Holland road shopping mall on the 2nd floor is a small shop Tsukiji Kaisendon that sells fresh Chirashi don that is affordable and fresh. The bowl was filled with salmon, scallop, maguro , ebi n etc. The chawamushi came with generous serving of ebiko that pops in your mouth. The place is small and fills up rather quickly during meal times.

... Read moreIf you're a fan of authentic Japanese cuisine but want to avoid the usual expensive spots, Tsukiji Kaisendon at Holland Road Shopping Centre offers a delightful experience. From my personal visits, the freshness of the seafood is remarkable for its price range, making each bite of their Chirashi Don an enjoyable treat. The assortment — including delicacies like salmon, scallop, maguro, and ebi — is perfectly balanced, bringing a variety of flavors and textures. One of my favorite parts of the meal is the chawamushi, which is a savory steamed egg custard topped with generous servings of popping ebiko. The texture contrast and burst of flavor from the fish roe elevate the dish beyond a simple bowl of rice and seafood. Be prepared, though—the shop is quite small and gets crowded quickly during peak meal times. It's best to arrive early or during off-peak hours to avoid the queue. Besides the Holland Road outlet, Tsukiji Kaisendon has several other locations, including Bukit Timah Plaza and Thomson Plaza, each maintaining the same commitment to fresh ingredients and affordable prices. Whether you're a local or just visiting Singapore, this place is a hidden gem for those craving authentic and fresh Japanese Chirashi Don without breaking the bank. In summary, Tsukiji Kaisendon proves that quality Japanese seafood dishes don’t always have to come with a hefty price tag. Visiting this spot offers a satisfying culinary adventure, especially if you appreciate fresh, affordable sushi bowls in a cozy environment.
