Small Crochet Ideas

#crochet is so fun and you can make literally anything you want! But sometimes creative blocks hit. Here’s a few ideas to hopefully help that block move out of your way!

1. Granny square stocking- that one was really fun! It took 13 granny squares (which I made slightly too big)

2. A pillow case- I used the Tunisian stitch for this one and ties for the opening. It was really fun and went really fast!

3. Place mats- these were so fast and rewarding for me!

4. Hanging basket- this is literally just a treble crochet and a magic circle! Well and a row of singles around the opening. So simple yes so functional!! I use this daily!

5. Purses and bags- they go by really fast and you can make literally any style! The button on my purse is a milk jug lid that I crocheted around!! And the bag was a gift for an elderly woman and she absolutely adores it! So many possibilities!

6. Dice bags- Magic the Gathering and DnD are HUGE!!!! Crochet dice bags are very in right now!! Super easy as well!! Also if you’re feeling it, give the dragon scale bag a try! I didn’t have room for a pic of it but they are so fun!! I made this one for my husband and he loves it! Uses it every weekend!

7. Kitchen towels- these add so much character to a kitchen! Or a bathroom! Anywhere you want really! They also make amazing gifts and I’ve even had several orders for these!!

8. Baby stuff- I absolutely love making things for babies!! So cute, tiny, and so rewarding thinking about the baby wearing/using it!!

... Read moreIf you're looking to expand your crochet repertoire beyond the traditional projects, small crochet items like those listed in the article are fantastic options. For instance, using the Tunisian stitch for pillow cases offers a unique texture that's both visually appealing and quick to execute, making it ideal for beginners or anyone short on time. Granny square stockings are a versatile project that allow for creative freedom—you can experiment with colors and sizes to fit your style or occasion. Combining multiple granny squares creates a patchwork effect that can be personalized for holidays or home décor. Hanging baskets are increasingly popular for their simplicity and functionality. Utilizing a magic circle and treble crochet stitches, as mentioned, you can craft sturdy and attractive storage solutions that keep your space organized. Adding a row of single crochets around the opening reinforces the basket’s shape and durability. Crocheted dice bags are trending especially within communities like Dungeons & Dragons and Magic the Gathering players. These bags are not only practical but also an opportunity to showcase advanced techniques, such as the intricate dragon scale pattern. Though no image was provided in the original article, giving a dragon scale dice bag a try can be a fun challenge and a unique gift. Don't overlook practical items like kitchen towels and baby accessories. Handmade kitchen towels add charm and a personal touch to any kitchen or bathroom and can be wonderfully appreciated as gifts. Baby crochet items remain overwhelmingly adorable, small, and rewarding projects. Creating baby hats, booties, or blankets involves manageable stitches that are great for calming creative blocks. Lastly, upcycling household items, such as making a crocheted cover around a milk jug lid to create unique purse buttons, is a clever and eco-friendly way to add a special flair to your projects. This kind of creativity not only enhances your crafting experience but also results in one-of-a-kind creations. Overall, these small crochet projects serve as excellent outlets for creativity when you're feeling stuck, allowing you to refine skills and produce beautiful, functional items that are perfect for gifting or personal use.

please please please don't wrap cords I know it's so cute and I want to as well but fire departments advise very strongly against it due to fire risks
