i didn’t think these would happen to me until i got pregnant! i always thought it was the normal morning sickness and that’s all. but i was SO WRONG. here are some symptoms i got that didn’t make sense, but made sense at the same time. 😆
💧Waking up drenched in sweat - and till this day i still wake up drenched in sweat, 4 months postpartum. this second pregnancy was absolutely insane.
🥲 Crying over anything - i would cry over anything. i cried because my dog dropped my coffee on accident and i couldn’t drink my husband’s, because his had cinnamon. (im allergic to cinnamon) good reason to cry, but i was so sad lol.
🥤Burping constantly - and not because of soda, but i was full of soooo much air. i was burping a ridiculous amount of times.
🧠 Forgetting what I was doing mid-sentence - i always had to stop and retrace my steps because i kept forgetting what i was doing. sometimes i’d forget what i was saying haha.
🤧💧Sneezing and peeing at the same time - pretty self explanatory, and embarrassing, but i did it once and i was at home lol!
🤰🏽🌮 Being full and starving at the same time - i’m basically eating for two, i was so full but at the same time, i was ready to eat more 🥲
what are some unique pregnancy symptoms you had?! 👀
... Read moreOkay, so we've talked about some of the wild, unexpected symptoms that pop up later in pregnancy, like forgetting what you're saying mid-sentence or crying over dog-spilled coffee (totally been there!). But what about those super early signs, the ones that might hint you're pregnant even before a positive test? I remember obsessing over every little twinge when we were trying to conceive, looking for any clue! These are what many call 'signs of implantation.'
Implantation is that magical moment when a fertilized egg snuggles into the uterine wall, usually about 6 to 12 days after ovulation. It's a huge step in the pregnancy journey, and for some, it comes with subtle clues that are definitely pregnancy symptoms I didn't know existed until I experienced them myself!
One of the most talked-about signs is implantation bleeding. Now, this isn't like a regular period, so don't get them confused! It's usually much lighter – think spotting, not a flow – and often pinkish or brownish, not bright red. It might last just a few hours or up to a couple of days, and it’s typically too light to even fill a pantyliner. I remember thinking, 'Is this my period coming early?' but it felt… different. More like a faint whisper than an announcement.
Then there's mild cramping. Some women describe it as a dull ache or light fluttering in their lower abdomen, again, much less intense than typical period cramps. It’s that little 'hello' from your uterus as the embryo makes itself at home. For me, it was so subtle I almost dismissed it as gas!
You might also notice a subtle dip in your basal body temperature (BBT) if you're tracking it. This is sometimes called an 'implantation dip,' where your temperature briefly drops before rising again. It’s not universal, but for those who consistently track, it can be a telling sign.
Beyond these physical cues, some women report feeling a bit bloated or experiencing breast tenderness even before their period is due. Hormonal shifts are already starting their work! And speaking of hormones, those early pregnancy hormones can definitely stir up some mood swings – one minute you're fine, the next you're teary-eyed over a commercial. Sound familiar? It's like a sneak peek of those later pregnancy crying spells!
And let's not forget the fatigue. Suddenly, you're absolutely wiped out mid-afternoon, needing a nap you never usually take. Your body is already working overtime building a new life.
It's easy to overanalyze every little sensation when you're hoping for a positive test, but knowing these potential early signs can help you connect the dots. Just remember, every body is different, and not everyone experiences these. The most definitive sign is always a positive pregnancy test! But looking back, these 'didn't know existed' early symptoms were definitely part of my journey.
Those pregnancy symptoms are wild! I'm glad you shared your experience. What are you most looking forward to after baby arrives? 👶
