I loved just sitting on a bench, soaking in the atmosphere, and watching families enjoy their evenings. Don't miss the Government Palace (Palacio de Gobierno) with its incredible murals depicting Nayarit's history – it's truly a work of art! For a deeper dive into the region's heritage, the Regional Museum of Nayarit is a must-visit. You’ll learn so much about the indigenous cultures, especially the Cora and Huichol people. And the food! Oh, the food in Tepic is a dream come true for any foodie. One place that kept popping up in my research, and which I absolutely loved, was Restaurant Las Koritas. Their traditional Nayarit cuisine is out of this world – think fresh seafood, ceviches, and their famous 'pescado zarandeado.' Seriously, my taste buds are still thanking me! While Tepic itself isn't on the coast, getting to some incredible Tepic Nayarit beaches is super easy. Another fantastic option is the charming town of Compostela, just a bit further south. It’s known for its colonial architecture and is a great stop on your way to other coastal towns. For those interested in local crafts and symbols, keep an eye out for the intricate Cora symbols, often seen in textiles and artwork around the region.
