DAILY NON-NEGOTIABLE SUPPLEMENTS

As a 30 year old girlie, supplements are becoming more and more important to me. Here are my daily non-negotiable supplements!

1. A multivitamin - this is just to cover my bases as I know I don’t eat enough fruits and veggies

2. collagen - this is for hair skin and nails, and for us aging girlies this will help with skin elasticity which helps reduce wrinkles.

3. Magnesium - I take this for sleep, headaches, and heart palpitations

4. Fish oil - to have a healthier heart and mind!

While a healthy diet and active lifestyle are my foundation, I've found that incorporating a few key supplements has made a noticeable difference in how I feel day-to-day. It’s all about finding what genuinely supports your unique needs, and for me, these have become my core essentials. Let’s dive a little deeper into why these staples – a multivitamin, collagen, magnesium, and fish oil – are part of my daily lineup, and some of the things I've learned along the way. 1. The All-Important Multivitamin: Your Nutritional Safety Net I’m the first to admit I don’t always eat enough fruits and veggies. That's where a good multivitamin comes in. It’s not a replacement for healthy eating, but it acts as a fantastic backup, helping to fill common nutritional gaps. When choosing a multivitamin, I look for one specifically formulated for women, and sometimes I even go for the gummy versions because, let's be honest, they're delicious! It helps ensure I'm getting a baseline of essential vitamins and minerals that are crucial for energy, immunity, and overall vitality. 2. Collagen Peptides: More Than Just Skin Deep As we age, our natural collagen production starts to decline, which can show up in our skin, hair, and nails. That's why I've made collagen peptides a non-negotiable. I add a scoop of collagen peptides powder to my morning coffee or smoothie. Beyond the visible benefits like improved skin elasticity (hello, anti-aging!), I’ve also noticed support for my joint health, which is a huge bonus as I become more active. It’s an easy way to promote that youthful glow from the inside out. 3. Magnesium Glycinate: My Secret for Rest and Relaxation Magnesium is truly a powerhouse mineral, and for me, magnesium glycinate has been a game-changer. I take it primarily for sleep support, as it helps calm my nervous system and promotes relaxation after a busy day. But its benefits don't stop there. I've found it also helps significantly with occasional headaches and even helps regulate those annoying heart palpitations I sometimes experience. If you’re looking for something to help you unwind and get better quality sleep, magnesium is definitely worth exploring. 4. Fish Oil / Omega-3s: Fuel for a Healthy Heart & Mind My daily dose of fish oil softgels is all about supporting my heart and brain. The Omega-3 fatty acids, specifically EPA and DHA, are renowned for their anti-inflammatory properties. I’ve noticed a positive impact on my cognitive function – I feel sharper and more focused. Plus, the cardiovascular benefits are incredibly important for long-term health. When choosing fish oil, I always check for a high concentration of Omega-3s and ensure it's from a reputable source to avoid contaminants. Beyond the Basics: Listening to Your Body and Consulting a Pro While these are my daily essentials, it's important to remember that everyone's body is different. If you have specific concerns, like managing PCOS symptoms or optimizing hormonal health, foundational supplements can certainly support overall wellness. However, it's always best to consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian. They can provide personalized advice and help you understand how supplements fit into your unique health journey, especially if you're curious about things like specific hormonal balancing or how certain supplements might interact with your body. Start slow, be consistent, and pay attention to how you feel. Your body will thank you!
