... Read moreThe FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is essential for helping college students access financial aid. For the 2025-26 academic year, the FAFSA form is officially open, allowing students to submit their applications ahead of the December 1st deadline. It's crucial to complete the FAFSA yearly, as returning students must reapply to maintain their eligibility for federal aid, college grants, and loans. To enhance your chances of receiving financial aid, it’s advisable to fill out the FAFSA as early as possible. Early submission can mean more funding opportunities, as states and colleges often allocate these funds on a first-come, first-served basis. During the application, it's important to note that you may have the option to skip certain income questions, depending on your financial situation, which streamlines the process. Applicants usually spend one hour or less filling out the form, including gathering necessary information such as tax returns, social security numbers, and banking details. In addition to these preparations, make sure you check specific deadlines for your state and institution, as these can affect your eligibility for additional scholarships and aid. Even when state deadlines have passed, completing your FAFSA is still critical for federal assistance eligibility. You can find comprehensive FAQs and guides on studentaid.gov, which further breaks down the information you need to know to successfully navigate FAFSA applications.

no clue if anyone can help me…my parents aren’t helping me this upcoming semester pay for school. They helped fall semester but said I’m on my own now. They are insisting on claiming me still. Are they allowed to? If they do I am not going to get any money from FASFA and then how will I afford school
