Past Life Jazz

I imagined something today…

What if I could go back in time.

Not to yesterday.

Not to my younger years.

But to a past life.

A woman who carried the same soul I carry now.

I wouldn’t try to change anything she went through.

I would simply find her, sit beside her, and say one thing:

It was worth it.

Every storm you walked through.

Every moment you chose strength when life asked more of you than seemed fair.

It carried forward.

Your courage became my strength.

Your endurance became my power.

Your survival became the woman I am today.

I am not strong in spite of you.

I am strong because of you.

Some strength isn’t built in one lifetime.

Some strength is inherited.

And tonight, I move forward carrying the crown you fought to keep.

Many people wonder if the challenges we face today are uniquely ours or if in some way, we inherit the courage and survival instincts from experiences beyond this lifetime. Imagining sitting beside our past selves and reassuring them that every hardship was worthwhile can be incredibly healing. In spiritual and psychological circles, this idea of ancestral or past-life influence is often linked to the notion that we carry forward lessons and power accumulated through many lives. This perspective can foster a sense of continuity and meaning in our struggles. When we acknowledge that some of our strength is inherited, it can encourage us to be kinder and more patient with ourselves during tough times. It reminds us that growth and endurance are cumulative and not limited to the present moment. From personal experience, reflecting on the 'storms' faced by those before me has helped me reframe my own life challenges. I find motivation in the idea that my tenacity is a tribute to those who persevered long ago, which makes every setback feel like a shared journey rather than a solitary burden. This mindset transforms hardship into a legacy of empowerment rather than defeat. The text also touches on the importance of recognizing and honoring the metaphorical 'crown' – the dignity and strength preserved through adversity. Carrying this crown forward means embracing responsibility and courage while validating the fight endured by the past self. It’s a powerful metaphor for resilience cultivated over time. The gentle and motivational tone encourages us to celebrate survival as a gift and strength as a heritage. Such reflections can inspire us to face our present with renewed confidence, knowing we are part of a much larger story. Whether or not one believes in past lives literally, the analogy serves as a meaningful reminder that perseverance and courage can span generations, shaping the very soul we live with today.
