POV: you were booked by surprised at the chillest beach town in Costa Rica. 🌴✨

Spent a few days in Sámara and now I totally get why people never want to leave. We stayed at Nambu Hotel, went dolphin watching + snorkeling, watched horses casually walk along the beach, and ate at restaurants with the funniest Spanish names. 😂

The best part? Visiting in May meant afternoon rain showers, lush green views, and way fewer tourists. Just slow mornings, beach sunsets, and pura vida energy everywhere. 🤍

Visiting Sámara offers a wonderful blend of relaxation and adventure that truly brings out the pura vida spirit of Costa Rica. What struck me the most was the town’s perfect balance of being calm and chilled out, yet packed with meaningful experiences. Staying at the local Nambu Hotel gave me perfect access to both the beach and town life. One of my favorite activities was dolphin watching early in the morning, where you can see these playful creatures leap through clear blue waters. Snorkeling nearby gave me a close-up experience with colorful marine life, making it a memorable part of the trip. Beyond the water adventures, Sámara’s unique charm lies in its vibrant local culture. I enjoyed wandering through small family-run restaurants sporting quirky Spanish names that invited laughter and curiosity. The food was fresh and flavorful, reflecting the authentic tastes of the region. Watching horses casually roam the beach added to the laid-back vibe and felt like stepping into a postcard. Visiting during May, the occasional afternoon rain showers were a refreshing touch that brought the tropical landscape to life. The rain kept the surroundings lush and green, a perfect backdrop for slow morning strolls or lounging on the sand catching breathtaking sunsets. This less-touristy season ensured peaceful moments on the beach, allowing you to fully unwind away from crowds. For anyone looking to explore a hidden gem in Costa Rica, Sámara provides a refreshing alternative to busy resort areas.
