Why I am returning these ereaders..

Why I am returning these ereaders…

I had FOMO so I bought these devices to test out. I can officially say I am a KINDLE GIRLY through and through. 😅

Please also look up reels, Tik Toks, and YouTube videos if you do plan to buy one of these to see how they work and if you think you’d like it.

I just thought I’d share some of the reasons I’m returning them. Well I had to resell the Boox so I lost out on some $ 😅🥲

QOTD——Let me know if you love yours and why! Or let me know if you agree with some of these points I made!

My kindle case is from @faeble.co 🫶

... Read moreSo, you're eyeing a new e-reader and feeling that familiar ping of FOMO, aren't you? Trust me, I've been there! That's exactly why I dove headfirst into testing the Kobo Libra Colour, Kindle Colorsoft, and Boox Go 7. My mission was to find the perfect digital reading companion, especially one that could handle my notes and highlights. While my heart ultimately belongs to Kindle, let me share some deeper insights, especially around those crucial annotation features and the colorsoft vs libra color debate. Let's talk about annotations first, particularly on the Kobo Libra Colour. I was really hopeful here. The Kobo does offer decent annotation capabilities, allowing you to highlight text and add notes using the touchscreen or a compatible stylus. However, my experience was a bit mixed. While the functionality is there, I found the responsiveness for detailed note-taking wasn't as fluid as I'd hoped, especially compared to what I'm used to on my regular Kindle for basic highlights. Plus, the additional stylus cost for the Kobo added to the overall investment, and I wasn't convinced the annotation experience justified it. If you're a heavy note-taker who needs precise handwriting, you might find yourself wishing for a smoother, more integrated solution. For simple highlights, it's fine, but anything more complex felt a bit clunky, and exporting those annotations wasn't always seamless for my workflow. Now, onto the big showdown: Kindle Colorsoft vs. Kobo Libra Colour. This is where my personal preferences really came into play. The Kobo Libra Colour boasts a color screen, which is undeniably appealing for comics, magazines, or books with illustrations. However, for pure text reading, I found the color layer sometimes introduced a subtle fuzziness or slight dimness that contributed to what I'd call general screen issues. It wasn't always crisp for long reading sessions. On the other hand, the Kindle Colorsoft, while also offering color, presented a challenge with eye strain for me. I noticed a distinct screen door illusion on some content, where the color filter seemed to create a grid-like pattern that was distracting. This was a major factor in my decision, as comfortable reading is my top priority. Beyond the screens, the overall user experience differed significantly. Kobo's interface is generally good, but I found Kindle's ecosystem to be far more intuitive and integrated with my existing library and reading habits. The high cost of these color e-readers also factored into my decision-making process. When you're paying a premium, you expect a flawless experience, and neither quite delivered on all fronts for me. As for the Boox Go 7, while it has its own strengths, I experienced screen ghosting and found its software a bit more complicated software than I preferred for casual reading. And yes, the lack of cute cases for Boox devices might seem minor, but for someone who loves to personalize their tech, it was a small but noticeable downside! Ultimately, choosing an e-reader is deeply personal. If kobo libra colour annotations are a key feature for you, I'd strongly recommend trying it out in person if possible, or at least watching detailed reviews showing the annotation process. For the colorsoft vs libra color debate, consider what you'll be reading most. Is it color-rich content or primarily black-and-white text? Your answer will heavily influence which device, if any, will truly fit your needs without buyer's remorse. Don't let FOMO push you into a purchase; do your research and prioritize what matters most for your reading experience.

I absolutely love my Boox Go Color 7 and ended up buying a BW Boox Go 6 because I love the fact it’s android based and expandable memory. But I can definitely understand why it might not be for everyone!
