Day in my life at LA Comic Con!

Stepping into the Los Angeles Convention Center for LA Comic Con always feels like entering another dimension, and this year was no exception! There's an incredible buzz in the air, a shared excitement among thousands of fans. While every moment is a highlight, meeting comic creators is truly special. My focus for this trip was definitely the artist alley, and I was so thrilled to finally meet Ryan Ottley in person. For anyone who loves comics, Ottley's work on 'Invincible' is legendary. Seeing his art up close, and then getting to actually chat with the person behind those dynamic, powerful panels, is an experience I'll never forget. He was incredibly gracious, and getting to snap a quick selfie felt like capturing a piece of that artistic magic. It's not just about getting a picture for me; it’s about that brief connection, getting to share how much their work means to you. I was also over the moon to get my 'Invincible Compendium One' signed – having that personal touch on such a cornerstone of my comic collection makes it even more valuable. Comic Con isn't just about meeting your favorite artists; it's also a fantastic place to connect with actors and other creators. I was absolutely buzzing after getting to meet David Tennant! He’s been a childhood crush of mine, and getting a moment to tell him how much I adore his work, especially his Dr. Who era, was a dream come true. The energy of these celebrity encounters, even for just a few seconds, adds so much to the whole experience. Beyond the meet-and-greets, the convention is a treasure trove for comic enthusiasts. Walking through the aisles, discovering new artists, finding rare issues, and seeing the incredible cosplay – it all adds to the vibrant tapestry of the event. And on top of all the fan moments, something truly unexpected and exciting happened. I received a text message from Marvel inviting me for a portfolio review! It was such an incredible, surreal moment, opening up a potential future I hadn't even dared to dream about. It just goes to show that Comic Con isn't just a place for entertainment; it can also be a springboard for incredible opportunities. Every year, I leave feeling inspired and already planning my next trip back!
