My Treatment buddies

#storytime #lemon8contest

So last year I started on my journey of getting clean off drugs 6-18-23. I went to in-patient thx and met those lovely ladies u see in my pics. Out of 14 girls, one is dead of an overdose, and myself and the two other girls u see in the last pic are the only ones who have stayed clean w no relapses. I just celebrated one year clean which I’m super proud of but I’m still struggling bc it’s hard finding a job right now with no transportation. My two friends have been a vital source of support for me and I love them so much. Getting help is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself bc my worst day clean is way better than my best day using. Love ya’ll❤️🦋❤️🦋❤️🦋

When individuals choose to get clean, they often find that the connections they form with others in treatment can be crucial for their long-term sobriety. These "treatment buddies" offer not only friendship but also accountability that can help each other stay on track. Many recovering addicts report that sharing experiences with fellow patients creates a sense of community and belonging, significantly reducing the feelings of isolation often associated with addiction. It’s essential to engage in mutual support, where individuals can openly discuss their challenges and victories without fear of judgment. Moreover, strategies to cope with triggers, manage stress, and deal with cravings can also be developed through shared experiences. Sustaining connections with others in recovery is often linked to higher success rates in maintaining sobriety. Additionally, support groups like Narcotics Anonymous empower individuals to share their stories, helping both the speaker and listener learn from each other's journeys. With ongoing dedication and support, those recovering can celebrate milestones like staying clean, which can boost self-esteem and motivate continued progress. Remember, seeking help is a brave step, and creating a robust support network is key in this life-changing process.
