You know how some pets just know they're the boss? That's Gio. He's not just a dog; he's the fluffy, four-legged CEO of our college household. Every morning, he wakes up with an agenda: to be adored, fed, and to ensure everyone understands he's the original, irreplaceable baby. As a Pomeranian Poodle mix, Gio inherited the best (and sometimes most stubborn) traits from both sides. He's got that undeniable fluff and charm of a Pomeranian, making him look like a perpetually cuddly cloud, but with the intelligence and playful energy of a Poodle. This combination makes him incredibly smart, almost too smart for his own good! He picks up on routines faster than I do and knows exactly how to get what he wants – usually with a well-timed head tilt or a dramatic sigh. His 'dramatic' personality isn't just for show; it's a way of life. If his dinner is even a minute late, you'll hear a series of insistent barks followed by him dramatically flopping onto his back, paws in the air, as if to say, 'Oh, the humanity! I'm starving!' It's impossible not to laugh. He's also incredibly expressive with his funny little growls and grumbles when he's playing or when you dare to interrupt his nap. The arrival of Kova, our new furry friend, certainly put Gio's 'OG baby' status to the test. Let's just say, 'he is jealous of Kova' is an understatement sometimes! When Kova first came home, Gio would quite literally stand between us and the new puppy, giving Kova the side-eye. He'd hog all the toys, and if Kova got too much attention, Gio would suddenly 'need' a belly rub, forcing himself into the spotlight. It's truly hilarious to watch their dynamic unfold. Now, they have moments of truce, even napping together occasionally, but Gio definitely still believes he's the supreme ruler. Having Gio as a college pet has been an adventure. He's my constant study buddy, often curled up at my feet, providing silent (and sometimes not-so-silent) encouragement. He loves our walks around campus, greeting everyone with a wagging tail, convinced they're all there to see *him*. The biggest challenge? Managing his diva demands during exam season when all I want is quiet! But honestly, his unconditional love and goofy antics are the best stress-reliever. He reminds me to take breaks, enjoy the simple things, and that even when life gets chaotic, there's always a fluffy king waiting to demand your attention and make you smile. He truly runs the show, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
