HOW TO BECOME THAT GIRL IN CHRIST

... Read moreStepping into the new year with a renewed spirit is truly one of the most fulfilling goals we can set. For me, the journey to becoming 'that girl in Christ' has been about intentionality and building consistent habits that nourish my soul. It’s not just about a temporary resolution, but a commitment to a lifestyle that honors God in every aspect. One of the most transformative practices I adopted was to give my morning to God. This isn't always easy, especially when my bed feels extra comfortable! But I’ve learned that setting aside the first part of my day for Him makes all the difference. My routine now includes waking up a little earlier to just be present. Whether it's through prayer, diving into His Word, listening to worship music, an uplifting podcast, or journaling my thoughts and prayers, I make sure to give the first of my day to God. This sacred time sets the tone for everything that follows, helping me navigate challenges with a peaceful heart and a clear mind. Another crucial step has been to become smart with my Bible. It's not enough to just own a Bible; truly engaging with it is where the spiritual growth happens. I make it a point to study and meditate on the Word daily, scheduling out times to get it done. This means actively reading, reflecting on what I've read, and asking myself how it applies to my life. Sometimes I use a devotional, other times I pick a book of the Bible and work my way through it. The goal is consistent engagement, allowing God's truth to transform my thoughts and actions. I’ve also come to truly understand the importance of taking care of the little things. It's often said that God isn't going to bless you with big things until you master the little things, and I've found this to be profoundly true in my spiritual walk. This means being faithful in small acts of obedience, managing my responsibilities with integrity, and showing kindness even when it feels inconvenient. It's in these daily, seemingly insignificant choices that our character is refined and our faithfulness is tested. And of course, gratitude is key. Cultivating a heart of thankfulness has been a game-changer. I strive to remain in a constant state of gratitude, understanding and appreciating what God has already done and what He will do in the future. This isn't about ignoring challenges, but about choosing to see God's hand in every situation. Keeping a gratitude journal or simply pausing throughout the day to thank Him for specific blessings has shifted my perspective from scarcity to abundance, reminding me of His unfailing goodness. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, is the commitment to pursue God before anyone else. This means to pursue and focus on your relationship with God before pursuing your relationship with another person. In a world that often prioritizes romantic relationships or social connections, putting God first can feel counter-cultural. However, I've learned that when my foundation is in Him, all other relationships fall into their proper place and become healthier. He is the ultimate source of love and belonging, and when we seek Him first, everything else flows from that secure relationship. Building this strong personal relationship with God has been the most rewarding part of my journey to becoming 'that girl in Christ', and I truly hope these insights inspire you too.
