Snagged this rare vintage piece today
STILL reeling from this big purchase
Almost 10 years ago, I bought my first serious watch…an MOP Lady Datejust with diamond markers that has been honestly? Timeless. It’s been my daily piece since 2016, and has seen everything with me. From leaving behind my full time job, to having my first taste of running a business. First few big deals. Late-night closings. Growth seasons. Hard seasons. It wasn’t just a watch, it was a milestone. My first ever.
For the longest time, I told myself if I were to get another piece, it would be the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Lady. I love the silhouette, the presence, the statement. And I wanted it in a very specific style. But iykyk haha sourcing one is not easy. Always no stock, long waits, uncertain timelines...
Then one day on IG… I saw her.
A vintage Cartier Panthère. Not something I’d ever considered before, but
Blue MOP dial.
Diamond bezel.
Diamond crown.
18k white gold.
It was super rare and hard to say no to.
The blue mother-of-pearl shifts subtly under light – sometimes icy, sometimes a little pink sheen. The diamonds aren’t loud, they just catch the light quietly. It felt elegant but powerful. Feminine, but not girly. Tbh kinda me.
What made me pull the trigger wasn’t just how pretty it is.
It’s what it represents.
Almost a decade between major watch purchases. In between that time was growth, building resilience, and learning my worth.
Sometimes we wait for someone else to validate that we’ve “earned” something.
But today felt like: I know what I’ve built. I know what it took.
So I pulled the trigger.
Not because I needed another watch.
Not because it’s trendy.
Not because anyone told me to.
But because I wanted something rare, timeless, and quietly powerful.
And honestly? I’m glad I bought it.
If you’re reading this and you’ve been waiting for a sign to celebrate your own growth, this is it. Reward yourself for the milestones nobody saw.
We don’t only celebrate results.
We celebrate becoming.
