Etznab, Uuc, Eb
As the gears in the cosmic calendar turn and churn the fabric of time and space, we enter Etznab, the sacred Flint, as our Sun 🌞 rises into the seventh day, Uuc, of the Eb trecena.
In Maya cosmology, Etznab is the blade of obsidian, the mirror that reflects truth without distortion. It is the day of sudden clarity, of cutting away what is false so that what is real can stand in the light. Associated with the North and the color white, Etznab reminds us that the sharpest cuts are those that free us from illusions. The Wolf 🐺, noble and fiercely loyal, teaches protection, leadership, and the strength to stand in truth. Its presence calls us to honor our inner compass and walk with courage through life’s challenges.
Uuc – The Number Seven
In Yucatec, Uuc is the seeker’s number, the midpoint that bridges the earthly and the divine. Seven is a place of pause and reflection, where choices are weighed and the path ahead is examined from a higher perspective. It brings balance, asking us to align our inner truth with our outward actions, ensuring they move in harmony.
Guardian of the 7th Day
The deity presiding over this day is Cinteotl 🌽, Lord of Maize and the sustenance of life. He embodies the cycles of planting, growth, harvest, and renewal. Under his guidance, Etznab’s cuts are not meant to harm, but to prepare the field for new growth, removing what will not nourish the future. As guardian of the seventh day within the Eb trecena, Cinteotl reminds us that the truest harvests come from seeds of honesty and integrity.
The cosmic date is Uuc (7), the day sign is Etznab, within the Eb trecena. In Gregorian terms, this corresponds to August 13, 2025.
Again I ask: What would the OG Daykeepers advise today as the energies of the Eb trecena meet the cutting clarity of Etznab and the reflective stillness of Uuc?
Today’s convergence is a reminder to face the mirror without fear, to walk like the Wolf in truth and loyalty, and to accept Etznab’s clarity as a gift. Honor Cinteotl by tending the fields of your life with care, sowing only what you wish to reap, and letting go of what cannot nourish your future. 🐺🌽✨
Reflection of the Day
Today is about clarity, balance, and courageous action. Etznab asks: what must we cut out of our collective field so that compassion, unity, and truth can grow? Uuc teaches us to balance the heart’s passion with a steady hand. As the Eb trecena shares, our choices now don’t just reflect the present, they shape the road ahead for generations to come.
When I look around our world right now, I see that systems rooted in racism and division are reaching their expiration. Ethnostates, supremacy, all of it is unsustainable; it fractures. The more these forces cling to fear, the more all who suffer unite in love and justice, making the oppressors truly the minority.
Recently in Washington DC, federal forces are being deployed as crime is said to explode, yet the data tells another story: violent crime is down, yet false authority rises. The deployment of National Guard troops, and talk of long-term federal control over local police, is fear masquerading as order. These people who blindly follow orders fall to rotting fear as PTSD eventually consumes their minds, bodies and souls.
On the global stage, messages of "no crisis" come from those requesting starvation, when in truth thousands are malnourished in Gaza. Their pain is invisible only to those who refuse to see, and that's a mirror we’re called to hold up today.
Today, the wolf’s call echoes: true leadership is service to the pack, not suppression. It means protecting rights, not deploying fear. As a society, the work we must do is not in building walls, but in healing wounds. We must uproot hatred and sow understanding. Because just like maize, society thrives on kernels of consent, nourishment, and shared purpose.
We are at a turning point. History teaches us that no tyrant stands forever; cycles always renew. What will we choose to harvest today: fear-driven illusion of power or wisdom-rooted justice?
