Rain Day

You know those days? The ones where the sky just opens up and everything feels a little... melancholy? That's exactly what inspired my latest illustration of this sad green toad in the pouring rain. I really aimed to capture that feeling of vulnerability, giving him those wide, worried eyes and a downturned mouth. It's not just about a toad; it's about that universal experience of feeling a bit exposed to the elements, literally and figuratively. I often find myself sketching characters that embody these everyday emotions, making them relatable even in creature form. Rainy days can be so atmospheric, can't they? They make you want to curl up with a book, or maybe just watch the drops fall. For this little guy, though, it's a different story.
