The fighter
When creating Vendetta, I knew I wanted another strong female in the group. Not someone that was just there emotionally for Calista, but physically. One who could train and help up the bad 🍑. This is the mafia anyway.
So I created June. And her character was something new for me I had never experienced before. Her quiet but strong presence, her gentleness when needed, and the uncanny ability to read people just placed me in a head space that oddly relaxed me.
I hope to one day really get her story out there, but for now she’s the unseen force in the background that most overlook, but shouldn’t.

As someone who appreciates well-crafted characters in dark romance novels, I found June’s role in Vendetta truly captivating. She’s not your typical emotional support figure; instead, she stands as a resilient and capable fighter, which adds a fresh dynamic to the mafia genre. What I loved most about June is her quiet strength — she doesn't need to shout to be powerful, and her gentle moments make her more human and relatable. Creating a character like June takes skill because balancing toughness with vulnerability isn’t easy. I can relate to the author’s experience of feeling relaxed when writing such a nuanced character, as it's refreshing to explore new perspectives beyond usual tropes. For readers who crave multi-dimensional female protagonists who aren’t just sidekicks but active players, June is the perfect example. Moreover, Vendetta’s mix of mafia intrigue and dark romance gets elevated by characters like June. She not only trains and supports the team physically but also reads people with an uncanny insight, making her a vital unseen force — one that readers should pay close attention to. Supporting characters like her often become fan favorites for bringing depth and complexity. For anyone interested in indie dark romance or mafia-themed books, Vendetta offers an exciting read with strong, memorable characters.
