Anybody else been doing a lot of gardening?🤪
Lately, I've been spending a lot more time gardening as a way to care for my mental health and practice self-care. It's funny because, while gardening is often praised as a calming and rewarding activity, I sometimes find that it doesn't immediately fix all my stress or anxiety. The OCR from my recent post sums it up well: "I've been doing so much gardening. It doesn't really help, though." Yet, I feel there’s more beneath the surface. From my experience, gardening isn't a quick cure — it's a process. Tending to plants requires patience and consistent effort. Watching a seedling grow into a flourishing plant parallels personal growth and mental healing. Even if it doesn’t erase your worries instantly, it offers a gentle escape and a chance to be present with nature. Additionally, recreational green products and cultivating a little garden corner have helped me build a daily routine. The act of caring for living things shifts focus away from negative thoughts, while the fresh air and sunlight elevate mood. It’s not just about the end results but about embracing the slow, mindful moments along the way. I recommend others struggling with mental health to give gardening a try, even if it feels challenging at first. Start small with easy plants, and don’t put too much pressure on immediate success. Over time, you might find that this simple, natural activity becomes a valuable part of your self-care toolkit — a way to nurture both your plants and your well-being.
