... Read moreI recently tried making this sticky chicken and rice recipe and it turned out amazing! One thing I learned is that using chicken thighs instead of breasts really enhances the flavor and keeps the meat juicy. I followed the sauce proportions exactly: equal parts honey, hoisin, and BBQ sauce, boosted with soy sauce and a splash of rice vinegar to balance the sweetness. Before baking, I seared the chicken thighs in a hot pan for about 3 minutes per side, which created a lovely caramelized crust. Adding half the sauce before placing the chicken in the oven helps infuse flavor during cooking. After 30 minutes baking at 350°F, I basted the chicken generously with the remaining sauce and increased the oven temperature to 400°F for the last 15 minutes. This step caramelized the glaze perfectly, giving a flavorful sticky coating. Seasoning with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper really enhanced the taste. I also recommend monitoring the chicken’s internal temperature to reach at least 165°F for safe consumption. Pairing this chicken with fluffy steamed rice makes a complete and satisfying meal. I added some cornbread muffins on the side for texture contrast, just like suggested, which was an excellent random but tasty addition. Overall, this recipe is easy to follow and results in a deliciously sticky, flavorful chicken that’s perfect for a cozy lunch or dinner. It’s definitely become a favorite in my household for casual meals!
