... Read moreSo many of you asked about the UNA GELLA 6-in-1 solid gel nail glue after my last post, and I absolutely have to dive deeper into why it's become such a staple in my at-home nail kit! When I first heard about 'solid' nail glue, I was intrigued. Traditional liquid nail glue can be messy, and sometimes, getting the perfect adhesion for my soft gel tips or press-ons felt like a juggling act. This UNA GELLA glue really changed the game for me. First off, 'solid' means it comes in a small pot, almost like a thick gel. This makes application incredibly precise. No more runny glue getting everywhere! I find it much easier to control, especially when I'm placing those clear acrylic nail tips. The '6-in-1' aspect is seriously impressive – it acts as a nail art adhesive, base coat, strengthening gel, and even works for attaching gems and charms. It's fantastic for encapsulating glitter too. Here’s my personal routine for using it to attach soft gel tips for a long-lasting manicure: Prep is Key: Don't skip this! I start by gently pushing back my cuticles and buffing the nail surface lightly. Then, I always, always use a good nail dehydrator and nail primer (like the MODELONES set I mentioned in my favorites!). This step is crucial for adhesion. It removes any oils and preps the nail bed perfectly. Apply the Glue: Using a small brush (one of those fine nail art brushes from my collection works perfectly), I scoop a small bead of the solid glue. I apply a thin, even layer to the contact area of the nail tip, and a thin layer to my natural nail. Place the Tip: Gently press the soft gel tip onto my natural nail, starting from the cuticle area and slowly moving towards the free edge, ensuring there are no air bubbles. This solid consistency makes it so much easier to reposition if needed before curing. Cure: This glue requires UV light, so my portable UV LED nail lamp comes in super handy here. I cure each nail for about 60 seconds. For a full set, I usually do a quick flash cure for 10-15 seconds per nail to hold them in place, then a full cure for all of them together. If you're using a more powerful model, like the 72W cordless UV nail lamp, your curing time might be slightly less, but always follow the product's recommendations. Finish Strong: Once cured, the tips are solid and secure. I then proceed with filing, shaping, and applying my gel polish and top coats. What I love most is the durability. My manicures last so much longer with this glue, and I’ve noticed less lifting around the edges. It’s also Hema-Free, which is a bonus for those with sensitivities. If you're looking to elevate your DIY nail game and get that salon-quality hold, definitely give UNA GELLA solid gel glue a try. It’s been a total game-changer for me!
