We had a Yard Sale 🏷️

I lost my job in February and though times have been a little rough lately, GOD has supplied our EACH AND EVERY NEED! To HIM be ALL the GLORY 🙌🏽

So, the last couple of weekends we’ve been hosting a yard sale. It’s been going really well. We have ALOT of Christmas stuff, so what’s left is still a decent amount. We sold some larger furniture and some misc items. Sometimes you don’t realize how much money you have just sitting around in THINGS.

This time of unemployment has been different, but in a good way. I’ve been able to focus on my mental and physical health, focus on my relationship with GOD, and REST for whatever GOD has for me next. Trials bring clarity and I know I needed some lol!

I said that all to say… ITS OK TO NOT BE OK! Life be lifin 🤷🏽‍♀️ Let’s make the best of it and stay in the word 🩷

... Read moreHosting a yard sale can be a beneficial activity during times of unemployment, providing not only financial relief but also a way to declutter and find value in belongings that have been set aside. During challenging economic periods, selling items such as furniture, holiday decorations, and miscellaneous household goods can generate significant income to help meet essential needs. In addition to financial benefits, engaging in a yard sale offers mental and emotional advantages. It creates a purposeful project that encourages staying active, organized, and focused, which are important for mental well-being during times of uncertainty. Moreover, it can foster a sense of community by interacting with neighbors and customers. Faith and spirituality often play vital roles in navigating difficulties. The powerful expression in the yard sale context—"Lord, please make it happen in the most impossible way so they know it's only You who could have done it"—reflects reliance on divine support for guidance and provision. Combining practical actions like a yard sale with spiritual trust can strengthen resilience. Tips for a successful yard sale include clear pricing, grouping related items, good signage, and using social media or community forums to attract buyers. Preparing for weather conditions and offering small incentives or bundle deals can also increase sales. Ultimately, periods of trial offer clarity and new perspectives. It's important to acknowledge that it is okay to face hardships and not always feel okay. Embracing vulnerability, focusing on health—both mental and physical—and maintaining a spiritual connection create a balanced approach to overcoming life's challenges. This strategy not only aids in immediate circumstances like unemployment but sets a foundation for future opportunities and growth.

I needed to hear this. I’m 51. Can’t remember the last time I was unemployed. That EOE is some bs! Let’s me know regardless how much you’ve brought to a company, you’re just a number. Replaceable. Thank you for a different insight on how to look at my circumstances. Tears falling down my face as I comment. Thanks again! 🙏🏾☝🏾💯🫶🏾
